At the back of the drawing room, the band began to play. Elegant, lively music filled the air, and the people around them began to move.
Dole had barely spoken with a few people before they took the opportunity to leave. Then nobles of every rank began approaching in groups, greeting Dole one by one.
Dole had more or less met all these people before. A Wizard's memory was exceptionally strong, and Dole wore a smile as he clinked glasses with everyone. With his current physique, he did not care how much he drank.
Monica stood beside Dole, quietly watching it all, her eyes gleaming.
Daddy is amazing.
Just then, Monica spotted several children in the distance. She tugged at Dole's hand and said, "Daddy, can I go over there and play?"
Dole looked over. There were several children there, each watched over by servants, so he nodded. "You can go play, but don't fight with the other children."
Monica immediately grew excited. "Daddy, I won't, I won't." With that, she ran off.
Dole felt somewhat helpless. Watching Monica's retreating figure, he felt a faint sense of guilt. To be honest, although he had a clone accompany the child, she truly had too few chances to go out. No playmates, no friends—compared to other children, although her circumstances were better by who knew how many times, she still lacked much of the joy children ought to have.
There was affection in his eyes, along with a trace of helplessness.
At that moment, he gestured to Wayne.
Wayne nodded and clapped his hands, immediately having someone go over to keep watch.
Watching Monica leave, Aixi said to Dole beside her, "Poor Monica. She hardly knows any children. How about I have my clones take her out more often in the future?"
