The Void Hall's Anomaly

Outside the square Void Hall stood forty-nine enormous round pillars on each side.

Originally, like the rest of the Void Hall, these pillars had been faintly visible, as though they existed somewhere between illusion and reality.

Now, one of the pillars was slowly lighting up. The glow was not dazzling, but a gentle white radiance.

At the same time, that pillar was gradually becoming translucent.
