The middle-aged man in black arrived with the two words "Law Enforcement" embroidered on his chest. He was from the Spirit Creek Sect's Law Enforcement Hall, which oversaw the sect's rules and possessed the great authority to take life or grant death, executing first and reporting afterward.
Within the sect, what the disciples feared most was the Law Enforcement Hall. Those who entered it would lose a layer of skin even if they did not die. Privately, everyone called it the Gates of Hell.
The man's aura spread out, directly suppressing Su Hao. Su Hao's body grew heavy, as though he had sunk into mud, making movement difficult.
Su Hao's heart sank sharply. He keenly sensed that something was terribly wrong. He had only just made his move, yet the Law Enforcement Hall had immediately targeted him. The coincidence was far too great.
"Rebellious disciple, you have violated the sect's laws. Suppress him at once." The man in black gradually approached, his pressure immense. Winds roared around him like an invisible giant hand pressing down from above Su Hao's head.
Without distinguishing black from white, right from wrong, he attacked at once and suppressed him on the spot.
The surrounding disciples fell silent as cicadas in winter and immediately backed away, silently mourning Su Hao's fate.
Boom!
The giant hand drew closer, and the air currents exploded with thunderous roars. Su Hao felt his body tremble in unbearable pain, as if it were about to burst apart.
As his expression changed, Su Hao threw out every spirit talisman in his hand—not upward, but straight at the middle-aged man in black.
The paper talismans ignited the instant they left his hand. Amid surging auras, flames, lightning, swords, and swirling gusts rose with shrill howls, all attacking the middle-aged man in black.
"Insolence!"
The middle-aged man in black flew into a rage. Whenever the Law Enforcement Hall acted, no one had ever dared resist. Yet Su Hao had actually attacked him directly. This was a monstrous act of rebellion, punishable by execution under the law.
Yet as those spirit talismans arrived, he stepped back. With a sweep of his sleeves, a strange wind rose, like two enormous hands parting clouds and mist, sweeping every attack aside.
With his attention divided, the pressure on Su Hao immediately lightened. His body flashed, and he retreated thirty meters, staring directly at the middle-aged man in black. "What law have I broken?"
"Hmph. You severely injured a disciple and resisted a law enforcement elder. Such monstrous rebellion is enough to warrant immediate execution." The middle-aged man's expression was dark and vicious.
Su Hao sneered. "First, I never attacked. He blew himself up and injured himself; it had nothing to do with me. Second, you attacked to suppress me without distinguishing right from wrong. I did not know why, and I would not sit here and wait to die, so naturally I resisted."
"Hmph!"
The middle-aged man barked coldly, "You are twisting words and forcing logic. You severely injured a disciple—I saw it with my own eyes. Everything is already fact. No argument is permitted."
"So the sect's laws are whatever your eyes see?" Su Hao asked coldly. By now, he had completely confirmed that this was a conspiracy aimed at him.
Moreover, not far away stood a handsome young man in snow-white robes with his hands clasped behind his back. Su Hao had never seen him before, but he could sense the hostility in the man's eyes.
More importantly, an old man stood beside him with a cold smile on his face. It was Liu Dao. Since this man had come, he was certainly here to target Su Hao.
"The laws are established by the Law Enforcement Hall. I am a law enforcer; therefore, I am the law." The middle-aged man was domineering as he strode forward. "Surrender without resistance, or be executed."
Fire burned in Su Hao's heart, but he could not resist now. The man in black's cultivation was profound, above the eighth level of Qi Condensation. Su Hao was absolutely incapable of opposing him at present.
At once, he gave a cold smile. "You are merely a law enforcer. I want to see a law enforcement elder."
"You have no such chance. Your crime is unforgivable. You will be thrown directly into Snake Valley, where ten thousand snakes will tear and bite you to death." The middle-aged man sneered. Suddenly, he flicked his hand, sending out a streak of golden light that became a hard rope, binding Su Hao completely.
Moreover, under the rope's effect, Su Hao felt his cultivation directly restricted. He could not circulate even the slightest trace of it, like a lamb awaiting slaughter.
The rope was golden, its outer layer like snakeskin, and its material incomparably tough. It was also a spirit artifact—indeed, a high-grade spirit artifact. Not only Su Hao, but even someone at the seventh level of Qi Condensation would be unable to move in the slightest after being bound by it.
The surrounding disciples all retreated with changed expressions. Su Hao's courage was commendable for daring to oppose a law enforcement elder, but his end was bound to be miserable. Snake Valley contained countless venomous snakes and was a hell of despair. Even someone at the eighth level of Qi Condensation would have no way to survive after entering it.
"Go!"
The man in black shouted coldly and suddenly beckoned. One end of the rope appeared in his hand, and he dragged Su Hao away at once.
No interrogation, no evidence—he simply declared the sentence and carried out the punishment, swift and decisive.
"Entering Snake Valley means certain death, but that is already leniency for him. If he had fallen into my hands, I would have made him beg for death while unable to die." The handsome young man in the distance smiled coldly, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes.
He was Cloud Sky, Cloud Demon's older brother—an inner sect disciple at the ninth level of Qi Condensation.
"After this, Xiao Wuji will certainly demand an explanation. What should we do?" Liu Dao spoke, calculating what came after. Although the East Gate had fallen into decline, Xiao Wuji was still an elder, equal to Liu Dao in status.
"He violated the sect's laws and was executed by the Law Enforcement Hall. What does that have to do with us? Besides, Xiao Wuji is merely a useless elder from the East Gate. What is there to fear?" Cloud Sky was utterly unafraid. As an inner sect disciple, his status surpassed even that of outer sect elders by a notch, and he was arrogant beyond measure.
Liu Dao fell silent for a moment, then nodded. That was true. What was there to fear from Xiao Wuji?
Su Hao was taken away, heading straight up the mountain before finally stopping before a black gate. The gate was tightly shut, yet one glance was enough to make one feel a chilling dread, as though demons lurked within and entry meant certain death.
"For the dignified Spirit Creek Sect to have an unjust law enforcer like you—the sect is in trouble." Su Hao's voice was indifferent.
"Hmph. Where is there fairness in this world? Strength alone decides everything. An inner sect disciple wants you dead, and an elder wants you dead. Besides, they paid three thousand spirit stones for it. Naturally, I want your life!" Now that they had reached this place, with no one else nearby, the middle-aged man in black had no further reservations. He spoke bluntly, a cold smile appearing on his face. "You are a nobody, yet you offended someone you should never have offended. Your death is no great loss. Be smarter in your next life. Some people are not foes you can contend with."
"You will die."
Su Hao sneered. Liu Dao, Cloud Sky, and even the man in black before him had all become people he was determined to kill.
"In your next life."
The middle-aged man in black sneered. With a flick of his left hand, a black iron plaque flew out and struck the black gate with a sharp smack. The gate opened soundlessly, and a vast gust of sinister wind poured out from within.
"There are countless highly venomous snakes in Snake Valley. Once you enter, death is already certain. When you reach hell, remember this well: the man who sent you here is named Wang Meng." Wang Meng sneered and shoved Su Hao directly inside.
The gate closed, sealed tight without the slightest gap. The black iron plaque and golden rope flew back into Wang Meng's hand. Without even looking back, he turned and left.
Once one entered this place, even with his cultivation at the eighth level of Qi Condensation, death would be certain. Su Hao was only at the sixth level of Qi Condensation; he did not stand the slightest chance.
