Background / History
Five years before his rebirth, Su Hao was the Su Family's celebrated young master and a genius at the peak of Body Tempering. His father, Su Yuanshan, vanished, and Su Hao subsequently failed for years to open his qi sea. Branded a “trash,” he was beaten and humiliated even by household servants while the Great Elder ruled as acting patriarch. 1
The Great Elder's men eventually murdered him and disposed of his body in Endless Lake. Su Hao's soul was reborn within a golden lotus, granting him an Innate Dao Body and the inheritance of the Devil Lord, one of the Nine Great Immortal Emperors. After confirming that his qi sea had opened, he destroyed his former body himself, declaring that the old Su Hao had died. 1 6
His return to the Su Family immediately overturned its internal hierarchy. He defeated Su Wuyan, survived the First Elder's attempted assassination, and was reinstated as patriarch with Su Jingshan's support. 3 He then voided Su Yu'er's forced marriage and publicly established that anyone threatening her would answer to him. 4
Personality
Su Hao is fiercely self-reliant. Years of abandonment and abuse convinced him that strength is the only dependable foundation in a world where the strong prey upon the weak. He pursues power openly, refuses to bow to status or seniority, and considers ambition essential for any cultivator. 1 5 24
He is calculating rather than blindly confrontational. Su Hao conceals his deeper aptitude when useful, uses ambushes, talismans, formations, and temporary alliances to overcome stronger opponents, and treats resources as necessities for survival and advancement. 7 17 29 30
Despite his ruthlessness toward enemies and traitors, he is intensely protective of those he accepts as his own. His choices are repeatedly driven by Su Yu'er's safety and Lin Yaoyao's welfare; he treats Lin as a person rather than property and risks conflict with sect elders to save him. 4 8 31 37
Su Hao does not consider a cultivation art inherently righteous or evil. He judges it by the intent of its user, which allows him to wield the demonic Supreme Heavenly Demon Art without rejecting its power. 4
