"As visitors, we've received guidance from the master here, and rewards far beyond what we've given in return. We ought to be courteous, humble, and grateful. But I think the master wouldn't want the valuable things here to go to waste, either," the petite female Wizard said. "We may not succeed, but we should at least try..."

Ruger nodded in wholehearted agreement.

He admitted that her words were moving-not charming, but genuinely stirring.

He was indeed a passerby, a lucky visitor, and a Kobold who liked acquiring treasures.

But he also had a timid, lazy side, and his greed was nowhere near strong enough to outweigh either trait.

Besides, they were fundamentally different. These so-called Black Wizards had clear goals, so naturally they were more motivated than he was. He merely had a little ordinary, instinctive greed. There was a vast difference between what drove them.
