Silverglow Academy.

Ruger still remembered the name of this place, the door that had shown no immediate sign of danger, and the light spilling out when it opened, which seemed to suggest it was somewhere good. The female Wizard's expressionless glance back had been no different from an openly emotional one. Both conveyed resentment. They had opened a harmless door but had no time to explore it, and if anyone could take advantage of that, it would naturally be Ruger. Here, it could only be him. They had taken the risks of exploring, only for him to reap the benefits.

That was why the female Wizard had shot him that glance.

Ruger watched the door slowly close and drift away, but that was all he did, committing its position and trajectory to memory.

Perhaps, if something unexpected happened and he had no other choice, he could consider hiding inside.

He was a greedy Kobold.

But he had never intended to steal any treasures from the Old Wizard's academy. Of course, he admitted he had coveted the Old Wizard's garden study. That was only a normal reaction, a desire that would inevitably arise in the heart of any normal Wizard.

He still remembered Lady Kailyn's words: trust the Old Wizard.

Once the Old Wizard succeeded, wouldn't a petty thief find himself in a terribly awkward position? Besides, he was no Black Wizard. Those fellows would find somewhere to hide and have a well-planned escape route. He couldn't do that. An upright Wizard like him was not skilled at such things.

Though he didn't look human, he had never thought less of himself.

Creak!

After some effort and deliberation, those two opened another door.

The seemingly unremarkable dark wooden door, adorned with antique patterns, appeared exceptionally heavy, giving off a disquieting sound.
