As he spoke, the tall male Wizard emerged from behind the last alchemical device concealing him, his hands half raised in a helpless gesture.

His voice was somewhat muffled, at odds with his refined appearance. Instead, it gave him something of Mahama's rough exterior and subtle mind.

Ruger glanced at the petite female Wizard beside him.

The little woman had been silently trying to escape his Boundless Cage all along, but the successive changes had thrown her off balance. Both the changes in her companion and the relentless pressure of Ruger's spells, which gave her not a second's respite, kept disrupting the methods she wanted to try. It was like realizing an answer would not work before she could even voice it.

"Please release Lady Mary from her restraints. Once again, I offer you my apologies. To speak frankly, Lady Mary can break free herself, but that would bring about certain undesirable consequences. A Wizard's reason tells us there is no need to resort to such measures." As he spoke, the man turned to glance at a hazy area diagonally below them. "Nor will we disturb that esteemed individual. We merely wish to find our passage at the smallest possible cost... we have always done what we believed was right, including our discourtesy toward you just now..."
