If anyone besides Old Lunse and the others was affected—or rather, if there were additional effects beyond those suffered by people with unstable bloodlines—it would undoubtedly be the Statue Gentleman. Under the blood rain, bloodline-infected individuals could move freely and even gained quite a few benefits. But the other Wizards and Wizard apprentices involved were greatly affected, especially the Statue Gentleman, who seemed to have come here to recuperate with the aid of the Blood Sun.

This was the second time Ruger had encountered them in recent days.
At first, he had been quite surprised and unable to make heads or tails of it. It was not until Old Lunse grimly revealed the thing's identity over dinner that Ruger finally understood. At times like this, the monsters that ran rampant beneath the blood rain were, aside from the extremely unlikely blood beasts that had wandered into the city, bloodline modifiers who had lost control. Some had lost their minds; others had already become monsters. In truth, this happened during every prolonged blood rain in the past.
