Chapter 310: Suspicion and Speculation
After a brief moment of thought, Ruger raised his foot and headed toward Black Horn City in the distance.
"Miss Nana Erz, you can continue with your own business. I came here to wait for someone I arranged to meet," Ruger said, curiously looking at the clumsy figure running in the distance. "I may rest in Black Horn City for a few days... Is that your friend? She doesn't seem to be a transcendent. Could she be a student following you?"
The somewhat taller girl had stood awkwardly to one side while the two spoke. Nana Erz had not brought her along when she went to the cliff's edge.
Now that he understood the situation here, Ruger was no longer in such a hurry. Perhaps if he rested in Black Horn City for a while, everything would simply fall into place.
"No, she isn't following me. I'm following her."
The petite girl also began walking toward Black Horn City.
Her words surprised Ruger.
As the two moved forward, the distance between them and the taller girl shortened. At last, the girl caught up, panting heavily.
The first thing she did upon reaching them was bow, carrying herself entirely like an attendant.
She also seemed very reserved, as though she were nervous in the presence of two Wizard apprentices.
Ruger walked toward Black Horn City, while Nana Erz naturally took her place at his side.
As they walked, the girl in the old dress, still gasping for breath, consciously fell some distance behind them and followed in silence, behaving with such propriety that she clearly had no intention of interrupting their conversation.
"There's something abnormal about me..." Nana Erz suddenly said. "For instance, the moment you appeared on the teleportation array, I sensed a familiar aura.
