Wizard Zorn's sparkling eyes made Ruger's heart skip half a beat.

Everything that had happened, from their first meeting until now, flashed through Ruger's mind.

"I think you can agree to his proposal." Zorn leaned back lazily, sprawling in his chair again. "He's a veteran level-five apprentice who's been preparing for a long time, and he's already reached his limit. He probably isn't trying to deceive you. I'll keep an eye on things when you sign the contract."

Wizard Zorn gave a lazy yawn as he spoke.

"My lord, what is this place? Is it our outpost?"

Turning over those fleeting images of the past in his mind, Ruger voiced the question that had puzzled him all this time.
