Ruger's reaction successfully piqued Kurt's interest.
"Would you like to join me in catching rats, Ruger?"
Kurt asked with a smile.
"Of course. It would be my honor to be of service to you, Lord Kurt."
Ruger replied in all seriousness.
Kurt seemed quite curious about why Ruger was interested, but rather than asking immediately, he chose to watch with a smile, saving that little amusement for later.
The two began wandering around again, taking care of breakfast along the way.
They strolled slowly, each pondering his own questions and occasionally exchanging a word or two. From crowded neighborhoods, they made their way onto quiet streets. Ruger discovered that there were still many places in this little city he had never visited, and he occasionally took the opportunity to ask Kurt a few questions.
"Can Faith Power help spark inspiration?"
Ruger thought as he walked, then blurted out the question when it came to him.
He kept feeling that, beyond his own efforts, there was a faint, invisible force helping him.
Kurt paused briefly, then smiled.
"It seems you're very well suited to the path of a Faith Wizard. According to the rumors, people suited to this path experience similar anomalies shortly after they finish shaping their own god..." Kurt said as they walked. "A Wizard once studied this. Apparently, it happens to certain people favored by spirituality. There's a theory that gods... viewed from a particular, unusual angle, are a kind of spiritual creation. That makes such Wizards better suited to this path, and makes these anomalies more likely to occur when they embark on it. Shaping a god causes fluctuations in their own spirituality."
Ruger listened with only a partial understanding, his eyes growing brighter before he sank into thought.
Seeing Ruger lost in thought, Kurt wore a
