Ruger watched Mahama take out the stone used to anchor a certain layer of the Abyss, then retrieve a large number of magic stones and begin arranging them.

In truth, a few days ago, when he had seen Mahama produce two specialized Return Stones for the Abyss—each exchanged with merit stones—he had kept sighing to himself. This Big Guy was definitely a terribly conflicted sort. He had clearly prepared everything he needed long ago, and obviously not recently either. The answer in his heart had probably been there for years, lying in some corner until it was nearly growing mold.

Ruger watched with widened eyes from the side. If not for Mahama's actions, he would have always assumed those uneven areas were merely decorative relief carvings around the array.

"I hope this one works. Otherwise, we'll have to switch to another Island. Some Magic Arrays that are too old can hardly bear this kind of use. Of course, the two of us shouldn't put too much strain on it. The more powerful a creature is, the harder it is to cross
