As Ruger cleanly snapped off large chunks of blood crystal from the wall at the bottom of the pit, the surrounding cheers and shouts rose to a new peak. Yet Ruger frowned.

He discovered that the blood crystals that had formed could not be completely removed, but he quickly understood why.

A silent demon stepped forward, removed the portion of blood crystal that could not be taken, and tossed it into a large crate. From its practiced movements, that portion of the blood crystal naturally belonged to the lord.
