The landscape was utterly barren. When nothing in sight moved, it took only a moment to feel as though the whole world had stopped.

Ruger withdrew his gaze and turned to look at the demons' Flesh-and-Blood Battlefield again.

There, far too many things were moving, slaughtering one another to satisfy their cravings. Ruger even saw a demon transform in the middle of battle, only for a pack of demons to devour its newly transformed flesh almost immediately. By comparison, demons like them outside the Flesh-and-Blood Battlefield were just a few little ants that had strayed from the colony.

Ruger scanned his surroundings, hoping to catch a glimpse of the so-called demon lords.

Their battle seemed to have ended. Even after looking carefully for a good while, he found none of them. The Flesh-and-Blood Battlefield was far too chaotic, and although their earthen slope was slightly elevated, it afforded a view of only one corner of the battlefield.

Ruger quietly closed his eyes to rest.
