As Ash Bullets appeared before him in large numbers, the two-headed demon gradually came to his senses and suppressed his madness. Perhaps he had recalled the helplessness he had felt before that strange thing while fighting Lord Heartstealer in the pit, or perhaps his headlong charge and the flaming whip in his hand had vented his nameless rage.

Ruger seized the two-headed demon by the scruff of his neck and hauled him close. Once he had calmed down, the teeth in one of his heads began chattering again, producing an irritating, rhythmic noise.
"Do you want to live?" Ruger asked in a low voice beside the two-headed demon's ear.
The impeccably authentic Abyssal sounded like a voice of salvation from a crack in the Abyss.
The two-headed demon froze for a moment. Ruger naturally knew what those two heads were thinking. The moment he calmed down, he had realized that crossing the entire mire of flesh and blood in such a short time was impossible, nothing more than a fear-driven fantasy. Once he determined where they had stopped, although he did not know why they had stopped here, despair had already taken root in his heart.
Intelligence granted him the ability to think, and thought granted him despair-something an ordinary demon should never have possessed.
"Do you want to live?" Ruger asked again.
It was the purest Abyssal, without the slightest attempt to disguise it.
The two-headed demon nodded frantically, seemingly unable to stop, just like his teeth clattering together moments before.
"Go. Use every means you can think of. Don't let anything disturb-Mènmèn."
Ruger kept it brief. Simple and blunt was best when dealing with demons. Had this fellow not possessed a brain, even those few sentences could have been dispensed with.
