Mona, who had been crouching to examine the floating feet, started at his words. She hurriedly stood, her eyes lighting up again.
"The Spirituality between them-is interconnected. Whatever methods you use, Spirituality leaves traces that are very difficult to hide..." Mona said softly, looking him up and down with the same smile.
The tall, thin Burden Object's eyes shifted slightly to glare at the smiling Mona.
"Didn't you notice before?" Ruger asked.
This was a very unusual situation, probably one the Monster Wolf had never encountered before: it had bound one person, but that person was carrying another on his back.
Mona shook her head.
"His consciousness probably can't exist in two places at once. The Burden Object can't act independently, but with the main body restrained by the Chains, the Burden Object might have a little more freedom... Still, they remain two parts of a single whole. This one chain is controlling both of them."
Mona circled the sword-wielding Bearer, explaining her conjecture under his murderous gaze.
Ruger, meanwhile, hefted the Storage Pocket in his hand.
The man had been quiet all this time, then suddenly controlled his Burden Object to move its eyes with difficulty and glare angrily. Perhaps it had something to do with Ruger's looting.
This was the first time he had taken a One-Ring Wizard's Storage Pocket while its owner was still alive.
He connected his mental power to it and tried to erase the man's Arcane Imprint right in front of him.
For a moment, those eyes looked ready to spit black fire.
Ruger stood there, right beneath the man's gaze, but the erasure was not going particularly smoothly.
He could erase it, but it would take some time-probably quite a while.
