The Bearers were powerful.
That was Ruger's first thought after reading the contract. There were probably powerful figures among the Bearers whom they had never encountered. Even among One-Ring Wizards, there were differences in strength, and the Bearers had a special background besides: theirs was a path connected to Nine-Ring Wizards. Even if ordinary low-rank Wizards could not inherit certain important knowledge, that was still quite frightening. At the very least, someone like Barry Danton would have no way to fight back without an oddity.
Bang! Rumble!
The Mushroom Kingdom trembled, but Barry remained unhurried.
Not all oddities were so useful. In certain respects, the Monster Wolf oddity alone was enough to make many oddity owners envious. Some oddities could do nothing but help their masters cook soup. Clearly, Barry had great confidence in his mushrooms.
After checking, Mona gave a discreet nod.
Ruger raised his wineglass as well.
"I've always been fond of mushroom wine." He drained his glass as he spoke.
Boom!
The Mushroom Men outside erupted into noisy shouts.
Barry Danton seemed very pleased with Ruger's gesture. His eyes immediately lit up, and he took the opportunity to drain his own mushroom wine, his smile broadening.
Ruger looked toward Mahama again. Big Guy nodded and was the first to leave his Arcane Imprint.
Contract scrolls floated toward Barry Danton, one after another.
Barry, fortunate and unfortunate in equal measure, began leaving his own Arcane Imprint as well. The contract scrolls burned one by one, leaving their words flickering in the air before slowly fading away.
After arriving in the Endless Sea, Ruger had heard that the changes made to contracts many years ago were also connected to Faith Wizards. They were considered one of the Supreme Council's most successful early applications of its research into faith power.
