Blood splattered, but it was not as stark a sight as last time.
A spindle-shaped Bone Cage enclosed the bearer, but now the prison also served as a support against the giant's fists. Its shape was a clever touch: the blows drove half of it into the ground, and blood spattered through the gaps. Big Guy kept pounding away. Ruger knew from this that it was not over yet, and his Ash Bullets slipped precisely through the gaps in the cage, working in tandem with Big Guy's fists.
A tenacious bearer. He was clearly an expert at battles of attrition, and so was his companion. If Ruger had not used his Ash Bullets in conjunction with that hard-to-erase mark to dispatch one quickly, letting them spread more of their gray mist would have made them very difficult to deal with. Even three to five ordinary Wizards from the Island would have been no match for them.
Ruger could pinpoint their positions and launch surprise attacks, while Big Guy could control his own body to withstand their drain on his vitality. They really had met their match today.
Bang! Bang, bang!
The enormous fists hammered the ground down another notch.
Ruger's brow twitched. This thing really was sturdy. It appeared to have been formed from the Burden Object on the bearer's back.
There had to be a reason for such abnormal toughness. Perhaps it was a spell that required upkeep, which the bearer inside was maintaining. But Ruger had been timing his attacks, constantly looking for chances to throw Ash Bullets inside. In theory, his opponent should have been unable to maintain a spell. That meant it was drawing on something else, such as gray mist accumulated beforehand.
Curious, Ruger strode forward and signaled for Mahama, whose fists were glowing,
