As the Island swayed and the raging winds and waves churned and overturned, Ruger inevitably felt a sense of dread.
At the moment when the entire Secluded Space faced drastic upheaval, the giant did not appear at once. He simply allowed the Island and the enclosed space it occupied to remain turbulent, leaving the Stone Box silent in the darkness. Only after a stairwell chamber beneath the tree roots had been constructed with the help of magic, and the Stone Box placed in the center of the room, did everything on the Island gradually settle down.
This once again proved Ruger's earlier guess.
This hastily made room probably served as a replacement for the original great tree. It was just a pity about that excellent tree; it seemed not to have met the giant's standards yet. The giant had occasionally come to inspect it before, seemingly preparing for the next stage of his plan and waiting for the tree to grow.
Unfortunately, plans could never keep up with unforeseen changes, which came swiftly and forcefully.
Another question arose in his heart.
By that logic, this room should not have been easy to enter. They merely had Island Oddities like the Monster Wolf, yet they could enter this place at will. It could not be called extremely easy, but something still felt off.
After the Cyclops wizard placed the Stone Box upon the stone platform at the center of the room and the stone door closed, something happened that surprised Ruger. The scene he had imagined never appeared. It was as though the giant had forgotten this place. From that moment on, he never came again.
What followed was a long silence.
Though he no longer had to face that void, Ruger still found it agonizing.
Ruger calmed himself, and a
