Meditation, time after time, was as much a part of life as anything else. Once all the complicated tasks were out of the way, meditation was a pleasure in its own right. With the cultivation of the ball-forming symbiotic spirit furs complete, Ruger had more time to spare again. After some rearranging, his days settled into another fulfilling routine. Through every change, only meditation remained constant.

With these changes, he finally had time to finish the books Wizard Jillian had lent him.

He had nearly finished them already, but the later stages of the Spirit Fur Cultivation Method for the ball-forming symbiotic spirit furs had delayed his reading. Of course, he had read anything that might help with his spirit fur experiments more than once in advance. The remaining books covered unrelated fields.

As he finished up, a book called Anomalous Interstices, about perceiving and peering into worlds in skewed dimensions, caught his interest. It even claimed to have observed a kind of emotional world: your anger rampaged through some wondrous world, while your compassion drifted through another. The so-called worlds mentioned in this book also differed from the conventional concept. The Shadow World, for instance, could still be viewed through an ordinary lens, but that did not apply to the strangely named worlds described in this book.

The book also mentioned that perhaps they should not be called worlds, but after trying several other terms, "world" still proved the most fitting.

It also touched on another field: emotional spellcraft. Its author was a Wizard deeply versed in emotional spellcraft, and between the lines, Ruger could tell that this was a veteran Wizard with considerable authority in the field.
