Grotto City.

Like the Black Valley Domain Ruger had visited, it had more than seventy Grotto Cities built in tiers around a bottomless, pitch-black valley, said to be an ancient battlefield where a powerful Demon had fallen. This was the greatest difference between a Cavern Domain governed by Wizards and an ordinary one: the Grotto Cities no longer depended solely on the light stones in their ceilings for illumination.

The cities of the Black Valley Domain had been built at varying heights around the dark valley to harness the lingering aura left by the Demon's death, which had endured for a thousand years, and turn it into light and heat for the Grotto Cities.

The Cavern Domain before him, occupied by the Vango Family, was called the Insect Sea Domain.

White light flowed across the ceiling.

It illuminated Moonworm City below.

That white light was unusual, carrying a cool, austere quality.

Ruger tilted his head back and strained his eyes to look. Like an ordinary Grotto City, the ceiling had an opening carved into its center, consisting of several holes. Various magic arrays with different functions were presumably laid out around them. But what showed through was not light stone, nor had the holes been made to expose portions of light stone. Instead, glowing worms crawled past them, as though someone had carved an opening into the worms' home at a spot along a route where worms would constantly pass.

With glowing worms continually passing the holes, the light in the city should have flickered. Yet what Ruger saw was quite steady. Presumably, this was the work of the ceiling's magic arrays, which collected the worms' light as they passed the openings and then released it steadily.

An insect sea? The Insect Sea Domain?

Ruger's gaze swept across the ceiling
