Benson was a bloodline Wizard. His Dragon Bloodline had influenced him, covering his body in scales, but Ruger believed it had also seriously affected his mind. In his own account, he had even married a Dragonkin wife-not a Wizard, but a young Dragonfolk woman. That alone offered a glimpse of the problem.
Benson also liked to roar like a dragon. In his wild imaginings, any spell in the world could be performed through roaring, cast within a roar. Even an entire spell sequence could be completed in one long roar. But after developing just a few Zero-Ring Spells according to his vision, he gave up.
Then he came up with the idea of hundredfold meditation, taking inspiration from the deep slumber of Giant Dragons to achieve a wondrous fusion. He developed special spells for this, even involving nightmare power and special modifications to his Dragonkin bloodline. But when he had only tripled his own meditation efficiency, he gave up.
He adored his scales. His bloodline modifications sometimes caused them to change with his wild fancies. Although those changes all remained within the scope of his Dragon Bloodline and never caused his scales to fall off, they did turn some of them multicolored, with more than a dozen colors at their most varied. Inspired by the path of multiple spell slots, he envisioned turning all his brightly colored scales into unconventional spell slots, making himself the Wizard with the most spell slots in the history of the Underground Caverns.
