A short person standing beside someone tall would look even shorter, but Wizard Jillian seemed to be an exception. Beside the statuesque Varin, her height did not stand out unduly. Perhaps the authority of a teacher she carried made others overlook it. Once she left Varin's side, however, that authority diminished somewhat. Having advanced as a Wizard in her youth and retained her youthful appearance, she looked petite wherever she went on her own.

Ruger looked at Jillian standing beside a rock. It was one he occasionally sat on, and it rose above her shins.

"Esteemed Lady Jillian, welcome to my little island. Perhaps I should give it a name."

As Ruger spoke, he looked toward the figure nearby.

She never sat down when she visited, just like Phyllis of the Vango Family. Sometimes, out of politeness, Ruger had to reluctantly stand as well. He disliked that intensely. Why stand when you could sit?

Seeing that Jillian still had no intention of coming over to sit, Ruger slowly rose and walked over to watch the waves with her.

"You haven't been keeping anything from me, have you?" Jillian turned and looked straight at him.
