In high spirits, Ruger sprang up from his recliner. Two Fur Hands floated before him as he moved, smoothly taking hold of "Benson's Spell Fantasies and Beautiful, Tough Scales." As he walked, the two Fur Hands kept adjusting their position so he could read steadily on the move, occasionally scratching his chin while he muttered a few words.

He walked unhurriedly from the spell practice area to the Stone Door, just in time to finish reading about another of Wizard Benson's failures. More precisely, it was a minor failure within a grand failure. The madness would continue. Ruger believed this little setback would never make Benson abandon his ideas.

Ruger looked away from the book and casually straightened his robes.

But the person outside was not that big-headed fellow.

Instead, Soldrich, a Two-Ring Wizard of the same Demon Wizard lineage, stood outside with a gloomy expression. Once the Stone Door opened far enough to reveal his face, the grim-looking man even forced a faint smile for Ruger.

One look at him told Ruger that he must have suffered the Demon Wizard's torment and had yet to recover fully, either physically or mentally.

As for the location of his residence, Ruger had told him during their last conversation.
