A room of black and white.

Those were not truly white walls, but a dazzling white light. As long as he did not stare directly at it, however, it did not hurt his eyes. It merely made this sparsely furnished room seem somewhat unusual.

A beautiful woman sat on a black chair, watching him with a smile.

Ruger blinked. He had not even registered what had happened and had no idea how he had appeared here, but at least he remembered the face and smile before him.

The three-colored stone tablet, which he had either not yet figured out how to use or had already used and forgotten, was no longer in his hands either. Still, Ruger was not particularly alarmed.

He was still that Kobold who knew nothing, and there was nothing wrong with knowing nothing.

He surveyed his surroundings, then looked back at the woman sitting upright in her chair.

The woman was still wearing his old Wizard Robe, but he knew this was definitely not his robe. Perhaps it was not even real clothing, just like this strange room. There was no door in sight, only a surrounding expanse of white light, yet whenever he stopped examining it closely, he could sense its square shape.

Suddenly, the woman pointed at the other chair.

Ruger raised his eyebrows and walked over with a slight bow. There were only these two chairs and a black table here, seemingly prepared for the two of them alone.

Just as he was thinking this, he discovered that the chair was a little too high. He would have to jump to sit on it, though only a little.

But he did not jump. He chose to stand on tiptoe and slide his backside against the edge of the chair.
