With the spell's aid, he once again became a torrent of flame streaking through the sky.
The oncoming wind battered his cheeks, but fortunately, his skin was thick and covered in sturdy fur. The strong wind against his face helped clear his head in his weakened state. That was also one reason he had been so eager to leave. After the invader's dramatic death, the strength he had forced himself to maintain seemed to deflate, and exhaustion surged through both his body and mind.
He pursed his lips and carefully thought back.
There didn't seem to have been anything particularly memorable about his departure this time. Then why had he shaken his head last time?
He relaxed his mind, letting the torrent of flame pull him through the air. He kept his altitude low; flying too high would make him conspicuous.
After a moment's thought, he took out his Demon Hunter Badge.
He was still looking forward to it. Someone else's guidance might not necessarily suit him, but it could at least serve as a reference and offer inspiration. Besides, this teacher of his teacher's teacher might well provide some very different insights. In Ruger's understanding, setting aside all the unknown mysteries, he ought to be an interesting fellow. Take that survivor of the fallen world, for instance. He had merely been passing by when he noticed the survivor's precarious, critical condition, yet he had stepped forward, taken the survivor as a disciple, and casually offered some strange guidance.
Ruger extended his mental power and activated the Identity Badge.
Something had actually struck him as rather odd. Only when he tried to recall whether that man had done anything unusual before leaving this time did he realize how hazy that memory was, as though it differed from the usual pattern.
