Boundless chaos had no up or down, no direction. The Collectors cluster existing within the interstice of the Spirit Realm was moving—or perhaps it was not moving at all.
Perpetuity and the others had wandered the Spirit Realm for a long time. Since their last clash with the Spirit Venerables, they had slaughtered Spirit Realm creatures while drifting aimlessly. The tide-like swarms of Spirit Realm creatures had been forcibly punched through, leaving a bloody path in their wake.
No, "slaughter" was not quite the right word. "Chisel" was more fitting. They had chiseled vast stretches of this region of the Spirit Realm into empty expanses.
By the end, even the mindless Spirit Realm creatures instinctively kept their distance, treating the Collectors cluster led by Perpetuity as a natural disaster unique to the Spirit Realm.
No one knew how much time had passed. Even the highly patient Collectors had begun to feel restless.
"Perpetuity, shouldn't we try another method to find a breakthrough? Searching aimlessly like this is far too inefficient."
The cluster's actions in the Spirit Realm were not without purpose. Perpetuity and the others were searching for passages connecting the Spirit Realm to the galaxy. Such passages were usually fixed routes granted when alien civilizations prayed to the Spirit Venerables of the Spirit Realm.
The passages were generally bound to artifacts, which those alien civilizations revered as "divine artifacts."
Even after an alien civilization was destroyed, its "divine artifacts" often remained, and so did the passages. Over time, the Spirit Realm came to contain countless such passages.
But that had been before. Now, not a single one of those once-common passages could be found...
"Indeed. We should consider another way to find a breach in the Spirit Realm and return to the galaxy." Perpetuity agreed with his kin.
