Gather the Dragon Balls, Make a Wish

The three people and one pig rode an old floating hovercar across a Gobi flat overgrown with towering mushrooms, completely unaware that a robot in the distance was aiming a missile launcher at them.

With an explosion, everyone was blown head over heels, and a robot descended from the sky and snatched away the Dragon Ball.

Ye Bai had had a chance to stop it from taking the Dragon Ball, but he did not make a move. He simply watched calmly as it flew away before his eyes.

Bulma urged Goku to hurry and get the Dragon Ball back. Goku called out the Flying Nimbus and gave chase, while Bulma and Ye Bai waited where they were.

Bulma paced in circles, muttering to herself.

"I wonder if Goku can get the Dragon Ball back."

Just then, Goku flew back. Sure enough, he had not brought the Dragon Ball back.

Bulma dropped to her knees and muttered through her tears.

"The person who just stole the Dragon Ball must have the last one too."

"It's over! It's over! Including the Dragon Ball that was just stolen, all seven Dragon Balls have been gathered!"

Just then, Goku said, "I still have one here."

Bulma instantly put on an epic face-changing performance. Then Yamcha appeared, but the vehicle was too small to fit everyone. At last, Ye Bai spoke up.

"It's fine. You guys go get the Dragon Balls back first. I'll slowly make my way over afterward."

After Goku and the others left, Ye Bai unhurriedly headed in the direction they had gone.

"Going over now would be pointless anyway. If I take my time getting there, the Dragon Balls should be gathered by then."

After traveling for a while, Ye Bai spotted a castle-like structure in the distance.

"About time. Now I just need to wait outside for that comedy trio to summon Shenron."

Just then, the comedy trio happened to emerge from the castle. They walked a short distance away, placed the Dragon Balls on the ground, and prepared to make a wish.

Pilaf placed the Dragon Balls on the ground and shouted.

"Come forth, Shenron! Grant this king's wish!"

The sky instantly darkened as clouds gathered, lightning flashed, and thunder rumbled. A massive dragon-shaped shadow appeared in the sky.

Ye Bai watched the scene from a distance.

"It really is impressive. But it's time."

Ye Bai charged toward them at top speed. At the edge of his vision, he caught sight of two bat-shaped shadows—Puar and Oolong, transformed into bats.

Ye Bai ignored them. When he reached the Dragon Balls, Pilaf was just about to state his wish when Ye Bai kicked him flying.

Looking directly at Shenron overhead, Ye Bai said, "Shenron, please use the full extent of your power to change my bloodline into the purest Saiyan bloodline."

A red glint flashed through Shenron's eyes before he said, "Very well. At most, my power can turn you into an upper-class Saiyan warrior."

After Ye Bai replied that it was acceptable, his body began to grow hot. The cells within him started changing, and indescribable pain surged through him.

"Ahhh~"

Ye Bai suddenly dropped to his knees. Veins bulged across his face, his eyes widened, cold sweat poured frantically from his forehead, and the muscles all over his body swelled and contracted.

His hair grew longer and swept backward, leaving only a single lock in front. The frequency of his trembling gradually slowed until it finally steadied, and a tail grew from beneath his lower back.

Ye Bai slowly rose to his feet. After carefully sensing his body, he looked at Shenron.

"Your wish has been granted. Farewell."

Shenron began to fade away, turning into Dragon Balls that scattered across the world.

Only then did Ye Bai look at the comedy trio. After some thought, he decided to spare them, since they would still be somewhat useful in the later plot.

So Ye Bai flashed behind them, knocking each of them unconscious before walking toward Goku and the others.

Bulma looked at Ye Bai as he approached and asked.

"Xiaobai, what wish did you make just now?"

Ye Bai answered honestly, "I asked Shenron to change my bloodline into the same race as Goku's."

It was only then that Goku sluggishly realized it. "Xiao Bai, you grew a tail too!"

Everyone nearly fainted. Goku really was adorable, but he was also genuinely foolish.

Just then, something unexpected happened. Goku happened to look up and accidentally saw the sky. He suddenly froze, his eyes beginning to lose focus. His muscles swelled, and thick fur grew over his body.

Seeing this, Ye Bai suddenly remembered that it was a full moon tonight. After Shenron disappeared, the full moon was no longer obscured. When Saiyans saw a full moon, they transformed into Great Apes.

Ye Bai picked up Bulma and hurriedly said to Yamcha beside him, "Yamcha, run!"

Before Yamcha could react, Goku had already turned into a Great Ape. Seeing this, he hurried after Ye Bai and asked as he ran, "Ye Bai, what's going on?"

Only then did Ye Bai explain, "When Goku sees a full moon, he transforms into a Great Ape. In that form, he loses his sense of self and only destroys every target he sees."

Bulma asked from Ye Bai's arms, "Then what about Goku? We can't just leave him there and ignore him, can we?"

Ye Bai carried Bulma to a distant spot. Once he felt they were safe enough, he put her down, turned to look at the Great Ape Goku, and said, "I can't beat Goku in that form right now. We can only cut off his tail to turn him back."

Just then, Yamcha arrived as well and said to Ye Bai, "I'll help too. If we grab Goku's tail tightly, his whole body will go weak."

At that moment, Oolong and Puar flew over from Goku's direction in bird form, landing and changing back into their original forms.

Ye Bai then said to Yamcha, "Alright. In a moment, you distract Goku. I'll restrain him, and you have Puar turn into scissors and cut off his tail."

There was actually another way: Ye Bai could look up at the moon and transform into a Great Ape as well, then pull off Goku's tail. But he did not do that, because he did not want to become a Great Ape. They were simply too ugly.

After deciding on the plan, they headed toward Goku, leaving Bulma and Oolong behind to wait.

Nothing went wrong. Goku was happily demolishing the castle when Yamcha suddenly appeared before him and drew his attention away. Ye Bai successfully grabbed Goku's tail, and after it was cut off, Goku slowly returned to human form.

Ye Bai carried the human Goku back to Bulma with Yamcha and the others. After laying Goku down, Bulma covered him with a piece of clothing.

Then Ye Bai suddenly said, "When Goku wakes up, don't tell him that he can turn into a Great Ape. Goku's grandfather was accidentally trampled to death when Goku transformed. If Goku finds out that he killed his grandfather, he'll be sad and guilty for the rest of his life."

Bulma nodded and said, "Ye Bai is right. Goku is so innocent and kind. If he finds out, he'll be heartbroken."

Yamcha and the others nodded beside them, all indicating that they would not tell him.

The night passed without incident. Everyone rested beneath a giant mushroom, waiting for Goku to wake up, while Ye Bai sat cross-legged atop another mushroom, sensing the power within his body.

"After my bloodline became Saiyan, my battle power increased by nearly ten times. With the bit I've gained through recent training, it should be around 150 now."

Ye Bai looked at Goku and the others in the distance as he considered his future plans. Now that he had Saiyan blood, as long as he did not grow too complacent, he finally had some ability to protect himself in this Dragon Ball world.
