Nappa's Change of Heart

Vegeta lay on the ground, staring at the red Nexus opposite him with fear in his eyes.

Nexus looked down at Vegeta. Light shone from its enormous body, and then it rapidly shrank, returning to the form of a Cultivator.

The moment Vegeta saw the Cultivator return to its original form, the fear in his heart immediately turned into blazing fury!

He felt humiliated!

"You... you... bastard!!" Vegeta roared as he charged at Cultivator No. 2.

Bang!

Cultivator No. 2 backhanded Vegeta away!

"Aagh~"

Vegeta wailed as his body rolled and scraped across the ground, looking utterly miserable.

Seeing this, Li Wei stepped forward. His body flashed, and he instantly appeared before Vegeta.

"You backwater yokel from space, you're far too weak. Go train for another twenty thousand years before you even think about invading Earth," Li Wei mocked.

Vegeta struggled to get to his feet. He was now covered in wounds; in his current state, he probably could not even defeat Son Goku.

"D-Damn it!" Vegeta clenched his fists unwillingly, glaring viciously at Li Wei and the Cultivators as he roared, "I'll remember this! Just you wait!"

With that, Vegeta turned and flew away, heading toward where his spaceship was located!

Watching Vegeta flee, Krillin shouted anxiously, "We can't let him escape! Otherwise, he'll come back to invade Earth again!"

Li Wei turned back with a smile. "Then we'll just defeat him again when that time comes."

Son Goku nodded in agreement. "Even though I didn't get to fight that Saiyan named Vegeta, I can tell he's very strong! I don't think I could beat him!"

"It would be such a waste to kill such a powerful fighter. I'll train even harder. If Vegeta dares to invade Earth again, then even if it costs me my life, I'll definitely stop him!"

Since even Goku had said so, Krillin, though still somewhat unwilling, could only lower his head and silently accept letting the enemy go.

"Isn't there still another Saiyan over there? He seems to still be alive. Should we kill him?" Yamcha asked, pointing at Nappa, who lay barely alive in a huge crater.

Everyone turned their eyes toward Li Wei. After all, Nappa had been defeated by Li Wei's Cultivators, so Li Wei should decide how to deal with him.

Li Wei walked to the edge of the crater and looked down at Nappa within it, raising his hand toward him...

Seeing this, everyone thought Li Wei was about to kill Nappa.

Son Goku's gaze sharpened as he shouted anxiously, "Hey! There's no need to kill him, is there?!"

Almost as soon as Son Goku finished speaking, a ball of light shot from Li Wei's palm and entered Nappa's body!

Under the healing effects of Li Wei's light, Nappa's battered body quickly recovered.

Nappa suddenly sat up from the ground and looked at Li Wei and the two silver Cultivators beside him in terror. Trembling, he asked, "Y-You... what do you want?"

Li Wei looked at Nappa with amusement. "I'm just curious whether you'd grow hair if you turned into Super Saiyan 3, so I've decided to train you."

"W-What Super Saiyan 3?" Nappa looked utterly confused.

Li Wei had no intention of explaining and went straight to the point. "Nappa, your companion Vegeta has already abandoned you. How about joining me instead? I'll train you well."

"W-What? Vegeta abandoned me? D-Don't tell me you defeated Prince Vegeta too?!" Nappa could hardly believe it.

Before Nappa could verify whether Li Wei was telling the truth, a sharp whistling sound suddenly came from the sky.

Everyone looked up to see a pod-shaped spaceship rapidly breaking through Earth's atmosphere and flying into outer space!

"V-Vegeta! Don't leave me behind!" Nappa stretched out both hands as if trying to grab Vegeta's spaceship, his voice filled with despair.

Li Wei looked up and watched Vegeta leave Earth, then lowered his head with a smile. "So? Will you join me?"

Nappa glanced at the smiling Li Wei, then at the two Cultivators beside him, who were baring their teeth and glaring at him. Very sensibly, he lowered his head and called out, "Sir!"

"Mm!"

Li Wei nodded in satisfaction.

"From now on, you'll follow me. I'll train you to become even stronger than Vegeta," Li Wei began selling him a dream.

Unfortunately, Nappa merely smiled at those words and did not take them seriously at all.

"Li Wei, I really have to thank you this time. If it weren't for you, we might all have died at the hands of the Saiyans," Son Goku said, still shaken.

Li Wei smiled. "I'm an Earthling too. Protecting Earth is also my responsibility, so there's no need to thank me."

"But Goku, I think you have tremendous potential. Do you want to train with me? I'll make you even stronger," Li Wei proposed.

"Really? That's great! But before that..." Son Goku looked eagerly at the two Cultivators and asked, "Could I spar with the two of them?"

Li Wei glanced at the two Cultivators and nodded. "Sure. Just make sure not to go too far."

"Great! Thank you, Li Wei!"

The others then slowly backed away, leaving the stage to Son Goku and Cultivator No. 1.

"I'm coming, Cultivator!" Son Goku warned.

Cultivator No. 1 extended a claw and beckoned with it.

Seeing this.

Son Goku curled his lips into a grin, his figure flashing as he charged straight at Cultivator No. 1!

Cultivator No. 1 flickered through the air. No matter how Son Goku attacked, he could not touch Cultivator No. 1 even once.

Bang!

Cultivator No. 1 counterattacked, kicking Son Goku flying with a single blow!

Son Goku steadied himself mid-flight, raised a hand to rub his abdomen, and grinned. "That really hurt. All right, then!"

"Kaio-ken!"

A red aura enveloped Son Goku's entire body. As violent energy surged around him, Son Goku's battle power doubled!

Sensing Goku's energy suddenly double, Piccolo and the others were all shocked!

"Goku can actually raise his energy to this extent? That's unbelievable!" Krillin cried out.

Piccolo silently clenched his fists, his face full of unwillingness!

It had only been a year, yet the gap between him and Son Goku had already grown this wide!

"Cultivator, watch out!" Son Goku warned before launching another attack.

This time, Son Goku's assault came like a raging storm, leaving Cultivator No. 1 struggling to deal with it.

Cultivator No. 1 was sent flying by Son Goku's punch!

After suffering that setback, Cultivator No. 1 immediately switched into his red youth form, doubling his battle power as well!

At this moment, Cultivator No. 1's battle power had already exceeded twenty thousand!
