With every rotation, the energy sphere devoured the surrounding void energy like a greedy beast.
Its volume swelled wildly at a rate visible to the naked eye. The light on its surface shifted from dark purple to blazing violet, then finally to an almost black deep purple, as though it could devour everything.
Inside the sphere, purple lightning darted wildly like dragons and serpents, emitting a low, terrifying hum.
"Take this—this is the true essence of destruction!" Beerus roared, his muscles bulging as his divine power erupted to its limit.
He thrust both palms forward violently, the motion as savage as if he were tearing open the heavens.
The purple sphere of destruction, swollen to the size of a small celestial body, finally broke free of his control. It became a falling sun wreathed in the flames of destruction and shot forward! It did not advance in a straight line, but spun and twisted violently, dragging behind it a purple-black trail tens of thousands of kilometers long.
Within that trail were shattered spatial laws, torn dimensional fragments, and pure annihilation energy.
Like an ugly scar across the universe, it warped and stretched the starlight at its edges into strange threads of light before drawing them into the trail and erasing them completely.
Wherever the energy sphere passed, space groaned as though being crushed, cracking inch by inch to reveal the chaotic, kaleidoscopic colors behind it.
Facing this nearly world-destroying strike, Qi Heng's silver-white figure did not move, like the hardest reef at the heart of a storm.
The silver aura around him drew inward, all his power frantically gathering and compressing into his right palm.
The muscles of his right arm stood out in sharp relief. Charged to the point of trembling, it slowly drew back until even his shoulder blade let out a series of explosive cracks—his entire body was like a fully drawn silver-white bow.
The mass of silver-white energy in his palm was no ordinary ball of light. It spun at high speed, and within it, countless miniature galaxies seemed to be born and perish, radiating a contradictory aura of coldness, order, and extreme explosiveness.
Qi Heng's silver eyes were sharp as frozen stars, fixed upon the approaching purple core of destruction. Deep within his pupils, not only was the purple light reflected, but every trace of energy flow and every distribution of power across the sphere's surface was clearly visible.
His charge reached its peak, the bowstring drawn to a full moon!
"Super 5... Star Extinction!" he shouted. He did not roar, yet his voice carried the resolve to cut through everything.
Qi Heng twisted at the waist, concentrating all his essence, energy, and spirit into his right arm. It snapped out like a lightning whip and erupted with a thunderous release!
The instant the silver-white energy sphere left his hand, it did not expand. Instead, it condensed to the extreme, becoming a slender yet blinding silver-white beam that shot straight out at a speed beyond thought, even beyond the speed of light! Rather than shattering the space it crossed, its higher, purer power smoothed and stabilized it, leaving behind an eternal straight streak of light that looked as though it had crystallized.
This streak of light formed the starkest contrast with the purple-black trail of destruction: one was ultimate destruction and chaos, the other ultimate penetration and order.
The next second, the two forces that represented opposite extremes of the universe collided solidly in the center of the cold, empty starry sky, without a single flourish!
The anticipated deafening blast did not come at once.
At the instant of impact, time seemed to have been gripped by the throat by an invisible hand, completely freezing in place.
The silver-white and purple energies did not simply explode. Instead, at their point of contact, they formed an incredibly tiny singularity whose mass and energy density were impossible to measure! They frantically invaded, tore at each other, annihilated each other, and regenerated.
At the edges where the energy spheres met, countless hair-thin black-and-white bolts of lightning burst forth. Each could have torn apart a planet, yet now they flickered and vanished like tame sparks amid the struggle.
The absolute silence was more terrifying than any roar.
Under the collision of these two supreme powers, the laws of the universe temporarily fell silent.
Then—
"BOOM--------!!!!!!!"
After the ultimate silence came an eruption beyond imagination.
It was not a sound, but the soul-piercing wail and roar of the universe's structure being violently shaken! An indescribable energy shockwave expanded mercilessly from the collision point in a perfect sphere, spreading toward every direction and every dimension of the universe!
At the forefront of the shockwave was a blazing white "blankness" that verged on nothingness—not light, but the "nothing" left after all color, matter, and energy had been crushed to the utmost limit.
Like an infinitely expanding wall of absolute destruction, it advanced at an incomprehensible speed.
Everything it touched returned to nothingness.
A massive interstellar dust cloud in its path silently vaporized without even producing a ripple; several passing asteroids vanished instantly like snowflakes cast into a blazing fire; farther away, a dim, dead rocky planet had its surface wiped away in one ten-thousandth of a second after the shockwave reached it. Immediately afterward, the entire planetary structure collapsed and exploded into hundreds of millions of fragments. Before those fragments could fly far, they were further pulverized and broken down by the even more violent energy currents, ultimately turning into the most basic particles and dispersing into the energy storm.
Space itself let out a wail like shattering glass.
From the point of collision, pitch-black spatial rifts spread wildly like a nightmare spiderweb, crisscrossing in every direction. Each fissure was bottomless, filled with chaotic temporal-spatial currents and unknown colors.
At the edges of the rifts, the starry sky was grotesquely distorted, starlight stretched into rings and spirals. It was a sign of severe damage to the structure of space-time—a miserable sight of universal laws collapsing and breaking before this power.
Whis and Vados, watching from afar, wore expressions graver than ever before.
The tide of destruction was already upon them!
"What... incredible fireworks," Whis murmured, the gem atop his staff blazing brilliantly.
Vados raised her staff as well, without the slightest hesitation.
The power of the two Angels poured forth at full force.
Hummm—hummm—hummm—hummm—
Layer upon layer of crystal-clear barriers of light, flowing with sacred runes, instantly unfolded before them.
These barriers were not single layers, but stacked upon one another, nested and reinforced together. Each layer condensed Angelic authority, enough to contain and erase the force of a supernova explosion without a trace.
Dozens of layers formed a dazzling yet unyielding domain of absolute defense.
But the tsunami-like shockwave of destruction still came crashing down!
The first barrier was like crystal struck by a heavy hammer. It held for only an instant before countless cracks surfaced across it, then with a sharp crack, it shattered completely and dissolved into a sky full of motes of light.
Then came the second layer, the third layer...
The shockwave tore through them with unstoppable force. Every barrier, each capable of protecting an entire galaxy, was as fragile as paper before the aftermath of this strike that combined the full power of a God of Destruction and one who had transcended beyond.
Cracking sounds rang out in rapid succession, each one signaling that another layer of the angels' defenses had been forcibly breached.
A faint sheen of sweat appeared on the foreheads of the two angels.
They continuously poured divine power into their scepters, repairing and generating new barriers as they engaged in a silent, savage struggle against the nearly endless aftermath of destruction.
The shattered glow of the barriers reflected against the distant core of the energy storm, which continued to expand and rage, turning this starfield into a cruel yet magnificent final tableau of clashing divine powers.
Across the third barrier, dense cracks spread wildly like a spiderweb, accompanied by a teeth-grinding sound of fracture.
Energy howled and burst from between the cracks. The entire barrier flickered violently, as though it might collapse completely at any moment—but in the end, it held on tremblingly, like a net stretched to its limit, barely maintaining its shape at the edge of destruction.
"Th-That's impossible!" Quitela cried out, his pupils suddenly shrinking.
