Background / History

Beerus is Universe 7's God of Destruction, regarded across the twelve universes as their strongest Destroyer and among their oldest beings. Before the main confrontation, he had slept deeply in his temple for an extended period; Gods of Destruction are stated not to die from sleep or the passage of time. 9 11

Twenty years before Qi Heng's arrival, Beerus made a wager with Champa. When Champa brought his candidate God of Destruction to Universe 7 to fulfill it, Beerus was awakened from his sleep and initially treated the matter with disdain. 9 11

Beerus became intrigued when Qi Heng remained unmoved under his natural divine pressure and annihilated a Destruction-energy sphere with his bare hand. What began as a dismissive test became a serious duel once Qi Heng awakened Super Saiyan 5. 12 13 19

Appearance
