Qi Heng's gaze passed quietly through the living room and settled on the enormous observation window.

His pupils glimmered faintly gold beneath the indoor lights. He seemed to be casually glancing around, but in truth, nothing escaped his notice.

Outside lay the lights of Bulma City, while the night in the distance was so deep it seemed capable of swallowing someone whole.

The city was so quiet, as though nothing had happened, but he knew perfectly well—this was merely the last trace of calm before the storm.

The evening glow streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, coating the furniture in the living room with a warm golden halo.

Qi Heng sat alone on the broad leather sofa, holding a glass of amber liquor. The ice cubes clinked softly against one another.

The room was almost silent, save for the occasional crackle from the fireplace.

Suddenly, the fingers around his glass paused.

That cold, cloying, malicious aura passed through the walls without warning. Like the most piercing winter wind, it instantly enveloped the entire space.

Qi Heng knew it all too well—it was Vegeta.

But now, Vegeta's once scorching, prideful aura, like that of a star, was being devoured by a deeper, darker power.

It was like a volcano suddenly freezing over, its boiling lava becoming pitch-black solid ice. Even the light in the room seemed to dim.

Qi Heng raised his eyes and looked toward the second-floor bedroom as though he could see straight through the walls.
