Background

Zheng Zhu came from a poor region and rose through the Federation after following Zeng Hu’s instructions to exchange a skull. He became a Fate Master and awakened the luck-oriented Life Destiny Heaven Luck Divine Horse. Though he completed difficult tasks that ordinary people could not, he remained physically ordinary and was widely dismissed as someone who only relied on luck 750 753.

Rather than compensate for his lack of combat ability, Zheng Zhu focused all of his Life Destiny cultivation on improving luck. His known Fate Codex and Fate Chart—Book of Heaven and Earth’s United Power and When Fortune Arrives, Everything Changes Diagram—made it extremely difficult for others to seize the benefits his luck brought him; those who tried instead suffered losses themselves 750.

Appearance

Before his final transformation, Zheng Zhu is described as a young man with a decent appearance and an intentionally shy, “pure” demeanor that he uses to gain favorable treatment 746.

After losing control as a Type 10 God Chosen, he becomes visibly inhuman 780:

Personality

Zheng Zhu is ambitious, status-conscious, and intensely hungry for strength. His original goal was merely to become a Type 3 God Chosen, but Lu Xingshi’s promise that he could reach Type 8 and beyond quickly expanded his ambitions 755. Even after becoming stronger than nearly every God Chosen in the Federation, he repeatedly demanded faster modifications and struggled to accept any delay 772.

He is initially grateful to Lu Xingshi for recognizing the value of his luck when other Fate Masters scorned it. However, this loyalty is transactional: he follows those who can provide him with power and is prepared to abandon Lu Xingshi once he no longer needs further transformations 766.

Zheng Zhu’s rapid rise leaves him with poor combat judgment and little emotional maturity. His defeat by a Type 4 God Chosen exposes his lack of practical fighting skill, while later transformations magnify his impulses into extreme emotional instability 759 778. By Type 10, his enhanced body increasingly acts on instinct rather than conscious thought.

God Chosen Seed Cultivation Program

Zheng Zhu advances to first place in the Federation’s grand competition without fighting due to manipulated match-ups, drawing resentment from other contestants. Lu Xingshi nonetheless considers his luck more valuable than ordinary combat power, as it can affect high-level God Chosen and potentially support the development of Types 8 through 10 754.

After winning, Zheng Zhu is recruited as the central subject of Lu Xingshi’s God Chosen research. He first becomes a Great Life Master, then rapidly rises through the early God Chosen types under Lu Xingshi’s supervision 755 756 757.

Defeat and Escalation

As a Type 3 God Chosen, Zheng Zhu is attacked by a Type 4 Fate Organization operative and is brutally beaten due to his lack of combat experience. Liang Can saves him, while Lu Xingshi is forced out of the experimental base and later returns to continue Zheng Zhu’s transformations 759 762.

Zheng Zhu reaches Type 7 despite Liang Can’s intervention. Empowered by Lu Xingshi but increasingly resentful of being controlled, he assassinates Liang Can by tearing out his heart 766 768.

Conflict with the Heavenly Fate Master

After assassinating Liang Can, Zheng Zhu is immediately suppressed by the Heavenly Fate Master. He escapes only through the combined effects of his luck, outside intervention, and Lu Xingshi’s thermal weapons, but suffers catastrophic injuries 768 769.

Lu Xingshi saves him through an emergency Type 8 transformation, then advances him through Types 9 and 10. Zheng Zhu’s confidence remains fragile because even Type 9 power is insufficient to defeat the Heavenly Fate Master 769 772.

Loss of Self

At Type 9, Zheng Zhu’s inability to control his strength causes Number Seven’s death, leaving him traumatized and vulnerable to the Grand President’s manipulation. He joins the Grand President against Lu Xingshi, though both sides intend to use him for their own purposes 774 775.

Following his Type 10 modification, Zheng Zhu and Cai Kang confront the Heavenly Fate Master. During the battle, Zheng Zhu’s consciousness is consumed by his transformed body; he becomes an instinct-driven monster whose regeneration and feral attacks force the Heavenly Fate Master into close combat 779 780.
