Background / History
Shin is the East Supreme Kai. He survived the Supreme Kais’ battle with Majin Buu, in which the Great Supreme Kai was absorbed and the other Supreme Kais died. The resulting break in their knowledge leaves Shin unfamiliar with the powers of his own Time Ring and Potara Earrings, as well as the God of Destruction 54 116.
Indra first encounters Shin by ambushing him in the Sacred World of the Kais. While Shin is unconscious, Indra takes his Time Ring, Potara Earrings, and the Divine Sword. Shin later discovers the losses and orders Kibito to find the sword 6 7. Years later, Indra persuades Shin to activate the ring and takes him to another timeline to find Cell. Shin helps locate Cell after sensing him absorb humans; Indra returns the ring afterward 53 54.
Appearance

- Wears the distinctive robes of a Supreme Kai 114.
- Initially wears Potara Earrings, which Indra steals 6 7.
Personality
Shin takes threats to the universe seriously, particularly Majin Buu. He considers sacrificing himself when Babidi claims it would prevent Buu’s awakening, and later risks embarrassment to gather energy for Goku’s Spirit Bomb 103 104 128. He can also be flexible: after Broly defeats him in the tournament, Shin focuses on how Broly’s strength might help stop Buu rather than demanding revenge 98.
His confidence in his divine standing is challenged repeatedly by Indra’s power and by Old Kai’s revelations. When Indra declines to handle Buu, Shin resolves to seek a solution rather than rely on him 53 109 150.
