Background
Vajra Fist was the fist technique Wang Xuance learned from an instructor at Tower Stele Martial Hall. After entering the army, he discovers that it is also the fist art issued to new recruits alongside the Crane Form Grand Stance. 4
It is classified as an ordinary Mortal-tier martial art, but mastery is stated to make it no weaker than ordinary Profound-tier techniques. Its style emphasizes rigid, steel-like force and decisive killing strikes rather than elaborate exchanges. 4
At completion, Vajra Fist is revealed to be an incomplete fragment of a martial art created by an ancient Buddhist monk who observed the unbroken tide line of the Guangling River. Its completion subjects the practitioner to severe bodily destruction and regeneration, reflecting the endurance-focused nature of Buddhist ascetic cultivation. 26
Abilities & Skills
Core Fist Force
Vajra Fist channels blood and qi through the arms to produce heavy, direct fist force capable of breaking defenses through raw impact.
- Its beginner-level force can smash through the surface fascia of opponents below the martial artist realm once Wang closes in. 9
- At the proficient stage, its force begins showing signs of evolving toward fist aura. 6
- At mastery, fist force becomes fist astral force, allowing it to wound opponents with force and destroy them with astral power. 21
- Wang's mastery-stage fists shatter Hua Ruoxi's Azure Rainbow Sword and drive destructive force into her body. 22
Weituo Presents the Pestle
The first documented form concentrates force into a straight, cannon-like strike. 4
- Wang uses it to overwhelm a one-knock Blood Gate bandit at close range, smashing both the man and his spear. 7
- It remains effective against weapons; Wang uses it against Li Mingyu's spear during their later rematch. 28
Dispersing Clouds, Scattering Snow
A circular defensive form that sweeps and redirects incoming attacks. 4
- It disrupts and scatters the spearheads of three bandits aimed at Wang's vital points. 7
- The form is particularly suited to warding off attacks and protecting the practitioner. 7
Eight-Armed Vajra
This form produces a barrage of fist and arm shadows, striking multiple directions and targeting vital points. 4
- Wang uses it against Li Mingyu's Sea-Severing Cloud-Turning Palm, meeting a flood of palm shadows with eight fist shadows. 19
- Its repeated use places severe strain on Wang's blood and qi during prolonged combat. 20
Vajra Demon-Breaker
The fourth form is bestowed when Vajra Fist reaches mastery. 21
- It uses fist astral force and can crush opponents with a single blow. 21
- Wang kills three successive tournament opponents with single punches using this form. 24
- Its force can contend head-on with Three-Knock Blood Pass fighters. 24
Fist Shatters the Tides
The fifth form is bestowed upon completion. 26
- It is activated with the body as its center. 26
- As long as the user's blood and qi remain unextinguished, the fist force does not cease. 26
- The form is described as capable of shattering towering waves without a trace of water vapor touching the user's clothes. 26
Limitations
- Vajra Fist relies heavily on blood and qi. Repeated use of its early forms leaves Wang's meridians empty, his fascia sore, and his arms unable to sustain further exchanges. 20
- The technique's bare-handed power does not erase the inherent advantage of weapons. Even after reaching perfection, Wang is forced back by Li Mingyu's Bright Silver Refined Iron Spear. 28
- Its defensive power does not make the user immune to poison or bodily harm. Wang nearly dies after Snow Scorpion Bone Poison enters through his skin, prompting him to seek a body-tempering martial art. 8
- Completing the art causes extreme pain: Wang's arm flesh ruptures and exposes bone before regenerating. 26
