History
The Dragon Elephant Grand Stance emerged after Wang Xuance completed his fusion with Eightfold Heavenly Gang. His original Tortoise-Snake Great Stance directly transformed into this more complex stance art, which he recognized as far more profound than its predecessor. 2
Its source technique, Eightfold Heavenly Gang, was a remnant Profound-rank manual from the Infinite Brahma Saint Sect. The manual was the principal cause behind the extermination of Tower Stele Martial Hall. 1
After joining the Mountain Sea Guard, Wang Xuance used True Martial Qi to deduce the stance. Its high cost convinced him to prioritize the cultivation of ordinary foundational stances, which could later strengthen it through stacking. 2 3
Nature and Cultivation
The Dragon Elephant Grand Stance is a foundational stance art derived from Eight Evolutions Heavenly Gang, Volume One. It strengthens the blood, drives qi, and draws upon the elephant's terrestrial strength and the dragon's power in water. 3
- It is substantially more complex than Wang Xuance's former Tortoise-Snake Great Stance. 2
- Direct True Martial Qi deduction is inefficient: 160 strands only raised its progress by 80 points. 3
- Two foundational stance arts can amplify it upon reaching sufficient attainment. 2
- When both Tortoise-Snake and Crane Form Grand Stances reached Great Success, the Martial Dao Template permitted them to be stacked into it. 25
- Wang Xuance considered it potentially capable of opening martial apertures, but this was not confirmed. 11 25
Forms
The Dragon Elephant Grand Stance has four documented forms. 3
- First Form: Lift the Sea, Move the Mountain
- Second Form: Twin Hammers Strike Like Cannons
- Third Form: Sweeping Strike Through a Thousand Layers
- Fourth Form: Churn the Sea, Overturn the River
Abilities & Skills
Blood and Qi Conditioning
The stance regulates circulation, strengthens blood and qi, and produces marked physical changes during cultivation. When Wang Xuance first advanced it, his blood and qi boiled, his bones lengthened, and his spine moved like a surging great dragon. 3
- It can circulate blood and qi to relieve internal congestion after combat. 4
- Its cultivation contributed to Wang Xuance's increasingly dense blood and qi, bringing his Jiuwei acupoint close to the Three-Knock Blood Gate. 9
- Its effects are intended as foundational conditioning rather than a replacement for combat arts. 3 4
Toxin Purging
Wang Xuance used the stance formula after being poisoned with Snow Scorpion Bone Poison. Its circulation forced most of the poison from his body, allowing him to survive and counterattack. 8
- It dispersed the poison when his blood and qi had begun to stagnate. 8
- The technique did not prevent the initial poisoning; Wang Xuance was nearly killed before he could circulate it. 8
- After purging the poison, Wang Xuance found that his blood and qi circulated more quickly than before. 9
Stance-Art Synergy
The Martial Dao Template identifies Tortoise-Snake and Crane Form Grand Stances as compatible foundational arts that can strengthen the Dragon Elephant Grand Stance. 2
- Tortoise-Snake Great Stance — Wang Xuance's original stance art, which transformed into the Dragon Elephant Grand Stance after the Eightfold Heavenly Gang fusion. 2
- Crane Form Grand Stance — A military foundational stance that can be cultivated alongside Tortoise-Snake for later amplification or stacking. 2 25
- Achieving Great Success in both compatible stances unlocks the option to stack them into the Dragon Elephant Grand Stance. 25
