It was already dark outside after dinner.
"Mengyao, are you still coming over to sleep tonight?"
Lin Chen asked.
Xu Mengyao shook her head. "My driver is here to pick me up. Take Xiaoqian home, and drive carefully."
"Okay."
Lin Chen nodded.
He did not press the issue.
Their relationship could develop naturally. As a man, he would be a little proactive, but the Xu Family was so wealthy that he could not pursue her too aggressively.
Besides, he was not particularly forward by nature.
"Mom, see you tomorrow."
Lin Xiaoqian waved her little hands goodbye to Xu Mengyao.
"Beep beep!"
After Xu Mengyao returned home, her dad video-called her.
It was morning in the United States.
"Dad."
Xu Mengyao called out after answering the video call.
Xu Guofeng said, "Mengyao, Lin Chen's situation is somewhat different from what I had people investigate back then."
"How is he so good at basketball?"
Xu Mengyao muttered to herself, It's not just his basketball skills that are good.
"Dad, the people you hired back then were no good."
Xu Guofeng said, "When Lin Chen was playing, you were even cheering, 'Go, hubby!' You like him, don't you?"
Xu Mengyao's face reddened slightly as she pouted. "Dad, you're already so old. Can you stop being so gossipy?"
"How is that gossip? I'm concerned about you."
Xu Mengyao said, "He is Qian Qian's Dad, after all. If it weren't for him back then, I probably would have suffered much worse. Isn't it normal for me to have a little good impression of Lin Chen?"
"Normal."
Xu Guofeng nodded. "After the basketball game is over, have Lin Chen and Qian Qian come by. We'll check him out for you."
Xu Mengyao muttered, "What's there to check? The crystal's already been destroyed."
"What did you say?"
