Background / History
Cynthia was born during the tribal era into the old-blooded elven line of the Tusk Tribe. Her generation was small enough that its members had hunted and fought together, leaving her with longstanding familiarity with fellow tribal survivors such as Giant Tusk and his brothers. 452
She served first as a combat soldier and later as a reconnaissance specialist. By the time of the Explorer 23 crash, she held the rank of major and was capable of independently formulating containment, interception, and witness-elimination plans under the Republic's emergency laws. 277 278 279
Several centuries later, Cynthia is a veteran Security Department operative. She has cultivated a massive external armor over hundreds of years and retains a reputation for bloodthirstiness during missions; this conduct previously earned her punishment. 451 454 459
Appearance
Cynthia is a mature, athletic elf with a powerful presence. Her physique is defined by toned musculature, and she can grow to more than sixty meters tall outside her external armor. 451 459
- Smooth, radiant skin and an athletic build. 451
- A high ponytail that reaches the middle of her back when tied. 455
- Sharp fingernails and toenails that can retract into her body. 455
- Traditional elven battlewear that is highly decorative and exposes much of her musculature; its protection comes primarily from her body and inscriptions rather than the garment itself. 451
- Her Giant Elf Armor resembles her by roughly ninety percent, has purple skin, and possesses thick dark-purple tentacle-like hair. 491
Personality
Cynthia is decisive, aggressive, and highly practical under pressure. During the Twin Kings·034 crisis, she immediately ordered the elimination of scouts, the destruction of the escape pod core, and the interception of possible messengers, while still arranging her forces so Headquarters could redirect the operation if necessary. 277 278
Despite her harshness, she takes responsibility for the people under her command. She initially considered withdrawing unarmored survivors from the front, then revised her plan when manpower shortages made their abilities necessary, seeking a role that would preserve both their safety and operational usefulness. 280
She is eager for genuine combat after long periods of routine security work and can be impatient with lengthy explanations in the middle of a mission. Her experience nevertheless makes her cautious: when facing unknown orbital threats, she deliberately restrains the Black Mist rather than provoke an overwhelming response before her preparations are complete. 456 467 484
Abilities & Skills
External Giant Elf Armor
Cynthia's cultivated external armor is a deeply synchronized second body rather than ordinary equipment.
- Has been nurtured through centuries of life-field attunement, rule synchronization, and cultivation. 454
- Can manifest as a giant elf over 600 meters tall. 491
- Expands her perception beyond one million square kilometers while providing highly detailed sensory feedback. 491
- Allows her to merge her consciousness and body with the armor for combat. 459 491
- Could only be delivered to the corruption site after her temporary base created a specialized fixed-point teleportation anchor. 481 490
- Requires long-term synchronization; a merely powerful elf-shaped construct cannot match the combat utility of a properly cultivated external armor. 454
Bodily Inscriptions
Cynthia can configure inscriptions through her body and companion beast consciousness, adapting them for combat, intelligence work, and environmental control.
- Uses inscription effects to read captives' memories and transmit extracted intelligence to Republic authorities. 461
- Her domain can reject weaker psychic interference. 461
- Can deploy Banshee's Wail, Fear Aura, Weakness Aura, focused-energy lasers, freezing iceflame, and heat-melting gaze. 463
- A psychic attack during descent briefly caused her mental confusion before she recovered. 460
- Stronger captives and information firewalls can resist or limit her mind-reading attempts. 461 463
Monster Transformation and Negative Aura Composite
To conceal her identity and delay enemy escalation, Cynthia can reshape herself into a corruption-themed monster.
- Her monster guise is a semi-upright, nearly seventy-meter creature covered in silver armor and black mist, with flaming spinal bones, saber-like claws, and gold-and-dark-red crystalline eyes. 472
- She creates a believable false narrative around the transformation to lower enemy vigilance and conceal her real objective. 470 472
- Her Negative Aura Composite spreads destructive emotions through nearby sapient beings, causing madness, violence, and infighting. 473 474
- Can broadly control affected soldiers within the mist, but cannot precisely dictate each individual's actions. 476
- Must restrain the mist's spread to avoid attracting excessive orbital hostility. 484
- Amplifying fallen thoughts threatens the purity and stability of her own mind. 494
Reconnaissance and Command
Cynthia combines field intelligence with rapid operational decision-making.
- Directed the crash-site response at Twin Kings·034, including intercepting couriers, gathering reinforcements, and destroying evidence. 277 279
- Received overall command over crash survivors, Station Nine's garrison, and scouts within the information jurisdiction. 279
- Established a layered blockade, hunting teams, a warning ring, and a command center around the city. 280 281
- Uses reconnaissance data to identify threats, assess enemy force composition, and calculate the balance of power before committing to battle. 467 491
Emergency Base Construction
Although primarily a warrior, Cynthia can establish a temporary base from her own body when isolated from conventional logistics.
- Uses her body as a temporary core unit, supported by her companion beast consciousness, online database access, and elven regeneration. 481
- Fuses with a growing tree-like structure composed of flesh, vegetation, metal, and inscriptions. 478 481
- The base absorbs local matter and damaged structures, eventually reaching roughly 300 meters in height. 481 484
- Provides data exchange with Elf Headquarters, aura support, intelligence-gathering capacity, production, and armor-teleportation infrastructure. 484 490
- Can create puppet troops from captured soldiers and use Brain Eaters to permanently convert them into loyal soldiers. 482
Equipment & Assets
- Giant Elf Armor — Cynthia's principal external body and most powerful individual weapon. 454 491
- Reconnaissance armor — Includes a braid-like data link that can transmit collected battlefield information directly into her mind. 279
- Inscribed accessories and battlewear — Her ornaments and revealing elven armor can serve practical inscription-related functions as well as decorative ones. 451 455
- Cynthia Residence — A private residence in Floating Island Urban District 102 with potential to operate as a mobile logistical or military base. 452 454
Cynthia Residence
Cynthia Residence is a highly automated private building whose systems support habitation, cultivation, transport, computation, and potential frontier deployment. 453 454
- The eighth floor is Cynthia's private living area, with her bedroom, bathroom, changing room, and basic daily facilities. 453
- The seventh floor contains a vehicle hangar. 453
- The sixth floor supports Virtual Realm projection, remote public affairs, simulated training, and long-distance social activity. 453
- Its training spaces support hand-to-hand combat, shooting, cold weapons, and inscription-transformation adaptation. 453
- Its intelligence core functions as Cynthia's data center and as a branch server of the Republic's computing system, supporting her companion beast consciousness during missions. 453
- If given time to develop, the residence can function as a mobile base for navigation, warfare, construction, production, logistics, or colonial development. 454
Relationships
- Agatha Tess — Witch Doctor and crash-site survivor who relays Cynthia's aid signal, constructs support infrastructure, and provides perception support during the blockade of Twin Kings·034. 278 280
- Giant Tusk — Old comrade from the tribal generation; later visits Cynthia at her residence. 452 456
- Night Tusk — Old comrade who knows of Cynthia's punishment for excessive bloodthirstiness on a mission. 451 456
- Frost Tusk — Retired military commander and old comrade who reunites with Cynthia at her residence. 456
- Alexsta — Second lieutenant and base-station guard commander who reports to Cynthia and delivers Headquarters' command orders during the crash-site incident. 279
- Alama — Friend and fellow elf who speaks with Cynthia about her attachment to Azra's reincarnations. 459
- Serusta — Elf scout whom Cynthia slaps after he makes inappropriate remarks about female warriors. 275
Story Role / Major Arcs
Explorer 23 Crash and Twin Kings·034 Blockade
After Explorer 23 is destroyed by a high-level Magic Beast, Cynthia survives the crash and takes charge of the reconnaissance team. She responds to the exposure risk by ordering scout interception, destroying the escape pod core, calling in surrounding forces, and preparing to isolate Twin Kings·034. 275 277 278
Headquarters appoints her the overall frontline commander. She leads survivors, scouts, and base-station reinforcements in sealing the city, builds an intelligence and surveillance network with Agatha, and directs the elf forces through their clashes with the Mammoth People's defenders. 279 280 281
Militia and Security Department Service
Cynthia later serves as acting security captain of a militia unit, personally subduing brawlers who use spell-like techniques in a city. Her severe treatment of them draws criticism from her superior through a mental link. 451
She remains connected to her tribal-era comrades, hosting Giant Tusk, Night Tusk, and Frost Tusk at her residence while discussing her dissatisfaction with repetitive security drills and recounting a deadly survival game she endured. 452 456
Fallen Commerce Star Operation
As a Security Department Executor, Cynthia accepts an ambiguous mission and descends into a hostile body at a Type 1 Corruption Origin Site. Her arrival is immediately compromised, forcing her to capture local inhabitants, extract intelligence, and prepare for approaching security forces and unidentified orbital threats. 459 460 467
To buy time, Cynthia poses as a corrupted monster and spreads the Black Mist across the city. She uses the resulting chaos to protect surviving intelligence sources, establish a flesh-and-metal temporary base, create puppet troops, and construct an anchor capable of summoning her Giant Elf Armor. 470 472 478 481 482 484
After her armor arrives, Cynthia detects an orbital ambush consisting of six powerful individuals and an elite corps exceeding ten thousand troops. With her giant body, base, bioweapons, and Headquarters' support in place, she prepares to end the operation by confronting the corrupted forces on the planet and in orbit. 491 494
