History

Position on the Continent

Shrek Academy was built at the junction of three nations and the Star Dou Great Forest, a location chosen to help preserve regional balance. Shrek City also serves as the first line of defense against beast tides from the forest. 12 20 51

The academy is considered the continent's number-one academy. Its role as an educational institution allows children of sects and other factions to enroll without directly conflicting with those powers. 52 72

Sea God Lake Incident

An unconscious Yu Wuyi, encased in Sam's armor, fell toward Shrek Academy as a fireball. The elders of Sea God's Pavilion could neither stop nor physically touch it before it crashed into Sea God Lake, sending waves toward the pavilion and Inner Court shoreline. 8

The academy publicly attributed the incident to an ordinary meteorite from beyond the heavens. Although rumors persisted that the elders had failed to intercept it, the academy chose not to address them further. 9

Yu Wuyi later awoke in Sea God's Pavilion while inhabiting Firefly's body. This led to Shrek Academy's first contact with Wuyi All-Purpose House. 9 11

Cooperation with Wuyi All-Purpose House

After Firefly demonstrated Sam's abilities before the Sea God's Pavilion elders, the academy began treating Wuyi All-Purpose House as an exceptionally powerful unknown faction. 11 12

Following deliberation, Shrek Academy agreed that, if the foretold continental crisis occurred and the All-Purpose House's strength proved genuine, it would follow the House's lead in resisting the threat. 19

Xuanzi later commissioned Yu Wuyi for information on the powerful fluctuation in the Heaven Soul Empire and learned that Long Xiaoyao had been involved. 36 37

Conflict within the Academy

Yu Wuyi and Firefly returned to Shrek Academy as honored guests, using a token and a dean-level black card previously given by Mu En. 52

A middle-aged academy teacher attacked Firefly after confronting the pair. Yu Wuyi retaliated and inflicted fatal injuries; the teacher later died despite treatment. 52 54

Yan Shaozhe considered the incident especially serious because an outsider had killed a guiding teacher on academy grounds. However, Sea God's Pavilion had already concluded that Wuyi All-Purpose House was stronger than Shrek Academy and should not be made an enemy. 54

Preparation for Invasion

When the Starry Sky Outer Gates appeared across the continent, Jing Yuan brought Yu Wuyi to Sea God's Pavilion to discuss the threat. 75

Before the multi-plane invasion, Shrek Academy received 2,000 Martial Soul Type I battle armors and ten True Body Type I battle armors. The elders organized a selection event for students and teachers, with Mu En personally overseeing the final ideological screening. 93 94

Organization & Facilities

Sea God's Pavilion

Sea God's Pavilion stands on Lake Heart Island in Sea God Lake, where the Golden Tree is rooted. It is Shrek Academy's most sacred site and the place where its renowned elders deliberate on major matters. 8

• Mu En presides over meetings and makes major decisions concerning the academy's alliances and security. 8 13 19
• Pavilion members include numerous high-level soul masters, among them several Super Douluos. 11
• The pavilion can accommodate honored guests, as it did for Firefly during the elders' deliberations. 13 16

Inner Court

The Inner Court occupies Sea God Island near Sea God's Pavilion. Though it has fewer than one hundred students, it is comparable in scale to many soul master academies. 14

Students capable of entering the Inner Court are regarded as highly promising; barring accidents, they are practically guaranteed to become Titled Douluos. 14

Its facilities include:

• Inner Court library — Holds books on martial souls and the state of the world. 14
• Soul tool zone — Contains advanced soul tools and methods of manufacture. 14
• Food street — A dining area with numerous food and drink options. 14
• Dueling area — An Inner Court equivalent of the Soul Fighting Arena, available free of charge. 14
• Sea God Lake event grounds — A lakeside area with artificial lotus leaves, tiered seating, and a large cafeteria. 14

Outer Court

The Outer Court contains multiple training fields where students undergo physical training, including sustained running drills in summer heat. 52

Unlike the Inner Court, its access procedures recognize dean-level identity cards in addition to honored-guest tokens. 52

Sea God Fate Matchmaking Convention

The Sea God Fate Matchmaking Convention is Shrek Academy's annual matchmaking event for Inner Court students. Participants undergo several academy-designed trials on water lilies in Sea God Lake. 16

Firefly was mistakenly included among the convention's female participants after Zhang Lexuan assumed she was an Inner Court student. Yan Shaozhe clarified that she was instead an honored guest of the academy. 16
