Background / History

After learning that the Heaven Dou Crown Prince had recruited Yun Chen—an orphan with innate full soul power—Ning Fengzhi regarded the loss as a serious missed opportunity for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. He feared an approaching upheaval in the soul master world and considered exceptional talents essential to the sect's survival. Although Gu Rong proposed kidnapping Yun Chen, Ning rejected the idea and chose to approach him through a master-disciple offer instead. 11

Ning later visited the Crown Prince's Residence with Gu Rong and Ning Rongrong, intending for Yun Chen to become Gu Rong's disciple. He praised Yun Chen's bearing and talent, but Qian Renxue, posing as Xue Qinghe, redirected the discussion rather than allowing the arrangement to proceed. 17 18

The visit collapsed after Ning Rongrong provoked Yun Chen and Gu Rong threatened him. Ning attempted to stop Gu Rong from acting rashly, but Emperor Xueye intervened, surrounded the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect with troops, and killed Gu Rong. Personality

Ning Fengzhi presents himself as composed, courteous, and politically perceptive. He recognizes Yun Chen's value immediately and favors recruitment through a formal master-disciple bond rather than Gu Rong's impulsive proposal to abduct him. 11

He is also deeply pragmatic. When Xueye demonstrates overwhelming power, Ning abandons confrontation, begs for mercy, and agrees to compensation rather than risk the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's destruction. 20 21

Ning arrives with Gu Rong and Ning Rongrong, attempting to persuade Yun Chen to accept a master. The visit deteriorates after Ning Rongrong clashes with Yun Chen and Gu Rong retaliates on her behalf. Ning tries to prevent further escalation but cannot stop the confrontation. 17 19
