Background / History

Journey into the Human World

A thousand years before her encounter with Xu Qianqian, the Snow Empress entered the human world to experience mortal life and seek a higher realm. She also visited the Star Dou Great Forest, where Di Tian told her about the sleeping Silver Dragon King and the Divine Realm’s prohibition against soul beasts becoming gods 145 146.

This knowledge changed her outlook. She doubted that even the Silver Dragon King’s awakening could resolve the soul beasts’ predicament, given the forces capable of injuring a first-class god. She also recognized that human expansion and soul-ring hunting threatened the long-term survival of soul beasts 146 172.

Conflict with Xu Qianqian

After Xu Qianqian stole the Ice Empress’s Ten-Thousand-Year Profound Ice Marrow, the two empresses intercepted her and her companions in the Frozen Forest. The Snow Empress sealed their route with a domain, but Xu Qianqian detected her concealed position 142.

Unlike the furious Ice Empress, the Snow Empress noticed that Xu Qianqian was stalling while gathering the Extreme North’s natural energy. When the Water Dragon King’s phantom manifested, its near-godly power shattered her domain and interfered with her control of ice. She ordered a joint attack and shielded the Ice Empress when their combined assault was overwhelmed 143 144.

Following their defeat, the Ice Empress demanded a retaliatory beast tide. The Snow Empress instead proposed peace: excessive destruction could attract the Divine Realm’s attention, while Xu Qianqian’s refusal to kill the Frozen Forest’s soul beasts suggested deliberate goodwill. She sent the Ice Empress to investigate Xu Qianqian and pursue cooperation, providing a flower to conceal her soul-beast identity 145 146.

Helping Dugu Bo

Xu Qianqian later brought the gravely injured Dugu Bo to the Extreme North. The Snow Empress clarified that she had no healing abilities, but agreed to suppress his rampaging poison-attributed Soul Core while Xu Qianqian treated him. She also shared the information about dual Soul Cores that she had learned from Di Tian 171 172.

In return, she requested help with Xu Qianqian’s plant-growth acceleration ability. Their cooperation succeeded: Dugu Bo’s condition stabilized, and he advanced to Rank 97 172 174.

The 700,000-Year Tribulation

The Snow Empress cultivated a 100,000-year Snow Lotus both as a breakthrough resource and as insurance. If the tribulation failed, she intended to use it to take human form and rebuild her cultivation. Xu Qianqian agreed to accelerate its maturation and proposed using the tribulation’s aftershocks to awaken her own thunder-related power 205 206.

During the tribulation, the Snow Empress fought successive lightning strikes while trying to form her second Soul Core. Her injuries, spiritual exhaustion, and inability to reach complete resonance left her close to failure. The Ice Empress joined her domain and took over much of its control, supported by Xu Qianqian and Bai Xiuxiu 220 221 222.

When their support could no longer sustain the attempt, Xu Qianqian and the Ice Empress staged the latter’s death using a clone. The Snow Empress caught the apparently dying Ice Empress, and their exchange brought their feelings into the open. Her emotional response activated the Eye of God, enabling her to survive and reach 730,000-year cultivation 223 224.

After discovering the deception, she confronted the Ice Empress but thanked Xu Qianqian for helping them. She then brought the exhausted group to her palace, where medicinal herbs aided their recovery 224.

Alliances and Spirit City

The Snow Empress and Ice Empress approached the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King for help against Sea God Island. She tested her new strength against his water mines and protected the Ice Empress from his mental attack. He agreed to assist in exchange for a secret concerning the soul beast world’s gods 253.

At Spirit City, she came at Xu Qianqian’s invitation after hearing that someone intended to assassinate her. She intervened when Tang Chen’s Clear Sky Hammer overwhelmed Sword Douluo and Dugu Bo, then combined domains with the Ice Empress to counter his Asura Demon Sword and Divine Slaughter’s Domain 261 263.

When Qian Daoliu imposed a ceasefire, she withdrew her domain and offered a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone as the tournament champion’s reward. Her offer helped secure Tang Chen’s promise not to cause another incident before the tournament ended 263 264.

Later Confrontations

The Snow Empress accompanied Xu Qianqian to the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace during her investigation into her lost childhood memories. She remained concerned but respected Xu Qianqian’s instructions to return to Spirit City and continue helping her 272 273 274.

In the later fighting, she and the Ice Empress held Tang Chen and Bo Saixi, wielding divine artifacts, to a stalemate. When Xu Qianqian appeared to lose her Soul Power, the Snow Empress privately checked her condition through the Eye of God and prepared to retreat with her if necessary 297 303.

Empowered by Xu Qianqian, she subsequently used Superconduct—Emperor Sword: Ice Extreme, Peerless. The attack froze time and space, suppressed Tang Chen’s Asura divine power, and severely injured him despite his detonation of six soul rings 307 308 309.

Appearance

The Snow Empress appears as a beautiful, slender woman whose stillness and aloof bearing evoke an iceberg 142 253 259.

  • Hair: Snow-white and exceptionally long, falling nearly to her ankles 259.
  • Eyes: Clear, ethereal sky-blue eyes 259.
  • Clothing: A long white dress; also appears in white robes with a face-concealing mask 253 259.
  • Presence: Radiates an icy aura that discourages strangers from approaching 259.

Personality

The Snow Empress is perceptive, cautious, and pragmatic. She recognizes Xu Qianqian’s delaying tactics before the Ice Empress does and favors negotiation over retaliation after their defeat. Her restraint reflects an awareness of the Divine Realm’s power and the danger of inviting its intervention 143 145 146.

Her desire to become a god coexists with serious doubts about her tribulation. Rather than rely solely on determination, she prepares the Snow Lotus as a fallback and considers rebuilding her cultivation as a human if necessary 205 206.

She is deeply protective of the Ice Empress, initially treating her much like a daughter. She shields her in battle, indulges her childish behavior, and remains emotionally unable to disregard her safety during the tribulation 144 146 222 224.

Her reserved manner also conceals a teasing side. She joins Xu Qianqian in mocking the Ice Empress, enjoys the excitement caused by her tournament prize, and admits that Spirit City’s candied hawthorn tastes good 171 259 265.
