Personality

Tang Hao is fiercely protective of Tang San and willing to use overwhelming violence to preserve his son's safety and conceal their relationship. He follows Tang San's progress from the shadows, secretly clears dangers in the Soul Beast Forest, directly confronts the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect when it attempts to seize Xiao Wu, and ultimately sacrifices himself to allow Tang San and Xiao Wu to escape. 16 17 41 73

His protectiveness is paired with extreme ruthlessness. Believing that Xiao Yuanshan's family knew too much about his identity, Tang Hao destroys the City Lord's Manor, kills Xiao Yuanshan and his wife, and hunts Xiao Chenyu to prevent any survivors. 21 22 Later, after learning that outsiders had investigated him and Tang San in Holy Soul Village, he kills every villager, including Old Jack, before razing the village. 56 He is also arrogant toward weaker soul masters, openly dismissing the danger posed by soul beasts and underestimating Xu Qianqian before her wind-based attack forces him to retreat. 17 21 22

Notting City and the Soul Beast Forest

Tang Hao first appears as an injured but powerful hidden figure connected to Tang San. When Xu Qianqian's knowledge makes her useful, he threatens her and Notting City into accompanying him to the Soul Beast Forest as an appraiser for Tang San's second soul ring. 11 15 16

While following Tang San's group, Tang Hao secretly removes threats, including a nearly thousand-year tiger and a 392-year Mandrake Snake. He allows Tang San to kill the Mandrake Snake himself, but warns Xu Qianqian not to reveal Tang San's abilities. She senses his killing intent after the hunt. 17

Destruction of the Xiao Family

After Xiao Yuanshan investigates his identity, Tang Hao attacks the City Lord's Manor and wipes out the Xiao Family. He kills Xiao Yuanshan and his wife, then pursues Xiao Chenyu after discovering him in hiding. 21

Xu Qianqian rescues Xiao Chenyu and confronts Tang Hao. Her giant wind-wolf phantom breaks his Heaven-Defying Strike and withstands the force of four detonated soul rings, leaving Tang Hao injured and forcing his retreat. 21 22

Conflict with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect

When the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect attempts to seize Xiao Wu after learning she is a hundred-thousand-year soul beast in human form, Tang Hao intervenes to protect Tang San and Xiao Wu. 41

He exchanges attacks with Sword Douluo, using Ring Detonation to counter the Rank 97 opponent. Unable to decisively defeat the sect, Tang Hao reaches a compromise: Xiao Wu is spared, and he swears upon his martial soul to help the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect kill a hundred-thousand-year soul beast within ten years. 41 42

Holy Soul Village Massacre and Spirit Hall Pursuit

After sensing that barriers around Ah Yin's hiding place have been destroyed, Tang Hao rushes to Holy Soul Village and finds signs that lead him to blame Yue Guan and Spirit Hall. He interrogates the villagers about investigators who asked after Tang Hao and Tang San, then massacres the entire village and destroys it with Heaven-Shaking Earth-Shaking. 56

Tang Hao subsequently intercepts Qian Renxue, She Long, and Ci Xue, believing they know Ah Yin's whereabouts. Although he overwhelms the group, Ci Xue poisons him through self-detonation, while a manifestation of Ah Yin heals She Long and confronts Tang Hao over the Blue Silver Emperor's fate. Ah Yin's Grass Uprooting Transformation aggravates Tang Hao's already serious injuries and allows Qian Renxue's group to escape. 57 58 59

Battle at Heaven Dou Royal Academy and Death

When Xu Qianqian defeats the Shrek students at Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Tang Hao attempts to extract Tang San and Xiao Wu from the academy. Xu Qianqian's wind field embeds Dragon Beard Needles into his body, and Yu Yuanzhen exploits Tang Hao's weakened state to attack him over Xiao Wu. 70

Tang Xiao arrives to shield Tang Hao, but the escalating conflict leaves Tang Hao unable to escape safely. During Tang Xiao's retreat with Tang San and Xiao Wu, Tang Hao activates Divine Slaughter's Domain, takes a fatal wind-element strike through the chest, and detonates all of his remaining soul power to delay Yu Yuanzhen. His sacrifice enables Tang Xiao to escape with Tang San and Xiao Wu. 73

Aftermath

Tang Hao's death becomes major news across the continent, with reports identifying him as one of two Titled Douluo killed at Heaven Dou Royal Academy. 75 Under pressure from Qian Daoliu, Tang Xiao publicly severs the Clear Sky Sect's ties to Tang Hao and agrees to send Tang Hao's corpse to Spirit Hall. 103

Tang San inherits Tang Hao's enmity toward Xu Qianqian, Dugu Bo, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Tang Hao's final letter also informs Tang San of Xu Qianqian's exceptional perception and reinforces Tang San's resolve to seek revenge. 103 104
