"Bang—"
A dull impact exploded deep within Mount Paozu, kicking up clouds of dust and sending startled birds fluttering from the forest into the sky.
Beside a moss-covered rock, the hatch of a spherical space pod covered in grooves slowly sprang open. Two babies wrapped in plain swaddling cloth rolled out along the slope. The smaller one blinked black grape-like eyes, the little brown tail at his lower back swishing restlessly as he babbled away.
The slightly larger baby, however, frowned with tiny brows, staring hopelessly at the leaves above him.
"I stayed up late watching the Dragon Balls remaster, and I still got transmigrated? The odds of this are more absurd than winning the lottery."
Qi Tian's consciousness roared madly inside his infant body. As a veteran Dragon Balls fan who had watched the entire series over a dozen times, he recognized this scene all too well—the Saiyan baby transport pod, the desolate primeval mountains, and that little guy beside him with the signature cowlick. That was clearly the childhood Son Goku—Kakarot!
He instinctively twisted his butt, and a fuzzy sensation came from his lower back.
Well then. He had become a tailed Saiyan too.
Before he could fully process the fact that he had transmigrated, a set of steady footsteps approached from afar. An elderly man with white hair and beard, leaning on a wooden cane, slowly walked over. It was Grandpa Gohan, the veteran martial artist living in seclusion on Mount Paozu. Seeing the two adorable babies on the ground, the old man froze for a moment before a kindly smile bloomed across his wrinkled face.
"Heaven has taken pity on this lonely old man and sent two grandsons to my side."
Grandpa Gohan carefully carried the two babies back to his wooden cabin in the mountains. He named the elder brother, born moments earlier, Qi Tian, and the younger brother Son Goku. From that moment on, the original timeline of the Dragon Balls world quietly took an inconspicuous turn.
That night, beneath the oil lamp in the wooden cabin, Qi Tian was staring blankly at the ceiling when an emotionless mechanical voice suddenly rang out in his mind.
[Ding! The Myriad Worlds Violent Sign-In System has successfully bound itself!] [Host: Qi Tian] [Race: Saiyan (Bardock's eldest son, Son Goku's twin elder brother)] [Current Combat Power: 5 (standard value for an ordinary infant)] [Inventory: Empty] [Unlocked Function: Daily Sign-In] [The first sign-in for beginners grants an exclusive gift pack. Sign in immediately?]
Qi Tian's spirits lifted.
The standard perk for transmigrators—the sign-in system had arrived, even if it was late! And its name was exactly to his liking—Violent Sign-In. It was clearly built for a path of overwhelming physical force.
[Ding! First beginner sign-in complete! Rewards obtained:] [1. Basic Saiyan Bloodline Enhancement: Permanently increases combat power by 15 points and doubles the body's base strength] [2. Senzu Beans ×10: Instantly restores all stamina and non-lethal injuries upon consumption] [3. Concept-Level Ability · Force-Piercing Force: Punches and kicks gain a penetrating effect, ignoring 30% of the target's physical defense] [4. Universal Earth Currency: 1,000,000 Zeni, automatically deposited into system storage]
Warmth spread through his limbs and body, and a hidden strength appeared within his frail infant form. Qi Tian was overjoyed. A concept-type ability right at the start—the system's rewards were seriously top-tier.
He quickly figured out the system's rules. A regular sign-in refreshed every midnight, with randomly varying rewards. They could be as minor as ingredients, clothes, or loose change, or as valuable as skill templates, bloodline fragments, and even legendary concept-level abilities. Special sign-ins would also trigger at key plot points, and their rewards were far superior to the daily ones.
The system's reward logic perfectly suited "violent evolution," with hardly any of the flashy nonsense from the godly power system. This was exactly what Qi Tian wanted—Saiyans should bulldoze their way through the universe with their physical bodies, evolving infinitely from Super Saiyan 4 to Super Saiyan 5 and Super Saiyan 6. That was the romance of being a Saiyan. Godly ki? Ultra Instinct? They could all step aside.
In the blink of an eye, twelve years passed.
Within the dense forests of Mount Paozu, a figure moved so quickly that only an afterimage remained. Empty-handed, he charged head-on toward a wild boar weighing several tons and drove a fist into its forehead.
"Thud!"
After the dull blow, the boar did not even let out a grunt before collapsing stiffly to the ground, stars spinning in its eyes as it passed out.
"Big Brother! You stole my prey again!"
Not far away, little Goku came running over in a blue training outfit, carrying the Power Pole. His cheeks were puffed out in grievance, while the tail behind him lashed angrily from side to side. He had chased that boar for half the day without even touching much of its bristles, yet his brother had taken it down in an instant.
Qi Tian shook out his wrist and grinned. "What do you mean, stole it? This is practical combat training. Look at you—you chased it for half the day and still couldn't get its rhythm down. Aren't you embarrassing Saiyans?"
Goku scratched his head, feeling that something was off but unable to say exactly what.
How could he know that his brother had enjoyed the sign-in cheat for twelve years? With daily sign-ins and the occasional special reward, Qi Tian's normal combat power had long since broken past four thousand. Forget a single wild boar—even if every fierce beast on Mount Paozu were tied together, they would not be enough for him to warm up.
Over those twelve years, he had signed in for quite a few bizarre things.
For example, there had been three consecutive weeks of "ten jin of rice" and "three pieces of cured meat," which had nearly enraged him enough to scatter all the rice in his system storage;
He had once signed in for mastery-level Kamehameha, even more standard than the one Goku learned from Master Roshi in the original story;
He had also signed in for the concept ability "Pain Numbing," which made him feel almost no pain in a fight—a true divine skill made for reckless brawlers;
The time that delighted him most was when he signed in for "Super Saiyan 4 Transformation Template Fragment ×1." Although it was only one percent complete, the system had clearly stated that as long as he gathered enough fragments, there would be no upper limit to Super Saiyan 4, Super Saiyan 5, or Super Saiyan 6. Saiyan bloodlines could evolve without end.
As for the original plot where Grandpa Gohan was trampled to death by Great Ape Goku, Qi Tian had prepared for it long ago. Every full-moon night, he knocked Goku unconscious and locked him in the cellar, successfully allowing Grandpa to live several more years. Until two years ago, when Grandpa Gohan passed away peacefully from old age, reminding the brothers to train hard and look after one another before he left.
"Alright, stop pouting. We're going back to roast the whole pig. Eat as much as you want." Qi Tian hoisted the wild boar over one shoulder with one hand, as easily as if he were carrying a sack.
The moment he heard the words "as much as you want," Goku instantly threw his grievance to the winds. He bounced along behind Qi Tian, muttering about eating three huge pieces of roasted meat.
The brothers had just returned to the clearing before their wooden cabin when the roar of an engine suddenly came from the distance.
"A car?"
Qi Tian raised a brow, and an amused smile curled across his lips.
It had arrived.
The main Dragon Ball storyline had officially begun.
A pink capsule car burst through the brush and charged straight at the two of them. Goku instinctively raised the Power Pole in front of Qi Tian, his face full of vigilance.
"Hey! Watch out!"
With the girl's cry, the car slammed on the brakes, carving two long black streaks through the mud before barely stopping in front of them.
The door opened, and a girl with short blue-purple hair jumped out. Dressed in a tight-fitting explorer's outfit and holding a strange-looking device, she was Bulma, the young mistress of Capsule Corporation. She glanced down at the wildly flashing dot on the device, then looked up at the two boys before her eyes lit up.
"Hey, you two, have you seen an orange glass ball with stars on it?" Bulma got straight to the point, shaking the Dragon Radar in her hand. "A round one, with star patterns on it."
Goku blinked. "A glass ball with stars? Oh! You mean the Four-Star Ball Grandpa left behind?"
"The Four-Star Ball!" Bulma instantly became excited. "So you do have it! Hurry up and let me see!"
She lifted her foot to rush forward, but Qi Tian reached out and stopped her.
"Wait a second, little miss." Qi Tian crossed his arms and leaned casually against the car door. "You come knocking and ask for something without even explaining yourself? That's my grandpa's keepsake. You can't just look at it because you say so."
Bulma froze for a moment, then properly sized up the boy blocking her way. He was half a head taller than the dumb-looking one beside him, with a straight, upright build and a hint of carefree amusement in his eyes. Though he wore rough cloth clothes, his presence was exceptionally striking.
"My name is Bulma. I'm from Capsule Corporation." Bulma put her hands on her hips and lifted her chin. "That's a Dragon Ball. Gather all seven, and you can summon Shenron to grant any wish! I'm searching for the Dragon Balls so I can wish for the perfect boyfriend!"
By the end, her cheeks had turned slightly red.
Qi Tian almost laughed out loud.
A classic scene. Searching for Dragon Balls to find a boyfriend—it really was the original flavor.
Just as he was about to tease her, a system notification suddenly sounded in his mind.
[Ding! Core plot node detected: The Dragon Ball adventure begins. Special sign-in opportunity triggered!] [Sign in immediately?]
Qi Tian's eyes lit up.
Plot nodes came with extra sign-ins? This was a huge win.
[Ding! Special sign-in complete! Rewards obtained:] [1. Permanent Power Level +500] [2. Skill: Master-Level Flight] [3. Conceptual-Level Ability · Stronger Through Battle: For every effective attack endured in battle, temporary Power Level increases by 2%, with no stacking limit; after battle ends, permanently retain 1% of the increase] [4. Senzu Beans ×50]
An even more surging warm current flowed through his body, and his Power Level rose sharply once more. Excitement flashed through Qi Tian's eyes. Stronger through battle? This ability was practically tailor-made for fighting—he would only grow stronger the more he fought, with no end in sight.
The way he looked at Bulma instantly became much friendlier.
Anyone who delivered benefits had to be warmly welcomed.
"So it's Miss Bulma." Qi Tian stepped aside to clear the way. "I've heard the legend of the Dragon Balls too. Summoning Shenron sounds pretty interesting. How about this? My brother and I will come with you and help you gather all seven Dragon Balls. What do you say?"
"Huh?" Bulma was stunned.
She had already been prepared to use capsule gadgets to scare the mountain kids. Why had they agreed so readily?
Goku was confused too. "Brother? Are we leaving Mount Paozu? But Grandpa said there are lots of bad people outside."
"What's there to be afraid of?" Qi Tian rubbed Goku's head and looked toward the world beyond the mountain, his eyes brimming with anticipation. "The world is huge. Big Brother will take you out to see it. And while we're at it... we'll beat up every strong fighter under heaven."
The setting sun cast the boys' shadows long across the ground. The wind swept up fallen leaves from the woods, brushing lightly over the earth.
From this moment on, the Dragon Ball adventure began to veer off course.
