Preparations Before Returning

The battle lasted for over half an hour before it finally came to an end.

Sun Cheng lowered his head and glanced at the dozen or so new wounds on his body. He suddenly understood why the ancient Cybertronian warriors had failed to wipe out all the Shadow Guards back then.

"Forget it. We'll withdraw for now. Once we've prepared a batch of electromagnetic weapons, we'll come back and clear them out completely!"

More than twenty Shadow Guards lay scattered across the ground. Some had been cut cleanly in half at the waist, while others had been severely damaged or paralyzed by electromagnetic weapons.

Even though Sun Cheng now possessed strength close to Leader-class, he had still been injured when facing these cold, fearless killing machines.

As expected of killing machines created by a Cybertronian elder!

Sun Cheng had once entertained similar ideas himself. He even still had a considerable number of combat robots under his command.

However, the robots he created could only be used to wear down the cannon-fodder soldiers bred by Starscream. They were even lower-tier than cannon fodder.

In contrast, even the weaker Shadow Guards created by Emperor Maximo possessed strength roughly equivalent to that of Decepticon advanced warriors.

Although the captains of their patrol squads were still only advanced warriors, their ruthless fearlessness meant that even elite warriors would struggle to take them down quickly. Even if they succeeded in the end, they would likely be injured as well.

With a wave of his hand, Sun Cheng stored the remains of the Shadow Guards he had destroyed in the Spherical Space.

These Shadow Guards had been able to patrol this underground ice lake, where temperatures neared minus one hundred degrees Celsius, for extended periods. Clearly, their body materials had undergone low-temperature resistance treatment.
