Though he had yet to see the newcomer's face, Sila had already dropped to his knees.
"M-may I ask... are you Lord Qi Dao?" Sila asked, trembling.
Qi Dao spoke indifferently. "It seems you're afraid of me, yet you still chose to target my parents!"
After hearing Qi Dao confirm his identity, nothing but terror remained on Sila's face.
He had come to kill Qi Dao's parents, only to be caught red-handed by Qi Dao himself.
Sila had no idea whether he had simply been unlucky enough to run into Qi Dao, or whether Qi Dao had been watching his movements all along.
If it was the latter, that was truly terrifying.
It also meant the other six men's missions were doomed to fail!
Yet even knowing that what he had done would almost certainly cost him his life, Sila still decided to try his luck.
What if he survived?
Sila hurriedly said, "Lord Qi Dao, Bibi Dong forced this lowly servant to do it!"
"She told me that if I didn't kill your family, she would kill not only me, but my entire family."
"I-I had no choice!"
"Please, my lord, spare this old life of mine, for the sake of the family I was trying to protect."
"As long as you're willing to spare me, I'll serve you like an ox or a horse for the rest of my life to repay your kindness."
By the time Sila finished, Qian Renxue's expression beside Qi Dao had turned utterly grim. Qi Dao himself, however, showed not the slightest ripple of emotion. He merely murmured, "So it really was Bibi Dong!"
With that, he struck the top of Sila's head with his palm.
