Just as Hermione raised her wand, hesitating over whether to cast a jinx at Snape, a voice suddenly rang out behind them.
"Get out of here! Now!"
A flash of red light followed. This time, Snape could not easily deflect the spell. Instead, he hurled out a chain of magic like lightning, which collided with the red light. The two forces ground against each other before shattering together.
"Sirius!" Harry's voice was full of delighted surprise.
He felt as though the day had gone completely mad. One unexpected turn after another had left his head spinning.
First Draco had swooped in to save them, and now his godfather had suddenly arrived.
"This is beyond anything you can handle!" Sirius looked utterly grave. "Fawkes will take you out!"
As though answering him, Fawkes flapped over and gripped Fred's and George's shoulders with his talons.
Flames rose, and before either boy could react, Fawkes vanished with them.
Sirius advanced toward Snape. Their spells collided again and again, neither gaining the upper hand. Snape was using Harry's wand, which put him at an inherent disadvantage.

Hermione did not stand idle either. She fired spell after spell at the other three Death Eaters.
Without wands, even three adult wizards were still vulnerable. They had not reached the level required for wandless magic.
