Jing Hongchen's eyes widened, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Meng Hongchen let out cry after cry of agony. Her formerly fair, delicate hand had frozen to a liverish purple, swollen and covered in glaring frostbite.

At that moment, the Ice Jade Scorpion Left Arm Bone had fused into Meng Hongchen's left arm. The originally normal process of absorbing a Soul Bone had halted for no apparent reason, and the previously mild jade-green glow had become stronger than ever.

Although Meng Hongchen had not summoned her Zhuqing Ice Toad Martial Soul, streams of icy mist born of extreme cold still continuously poured out from her left arm.

In just a few breaths, Meng Hongchen's aura had weakened to the extreme. The Soul Power in her body seemed to be drawn toward her left arm, surging there all at once.

Though he was anxious as an ant on a hot pan, Jing Hongchen forced himself to calm down. He took a small spherical device from his Storage Soul Tool, decisively injected Soul Power into it, and had the sphere release a beam of light that scanned Meng Hongchen's entire body.
