Background / History

Born as a conjoined infant in a primitive human era, the Black Witch King endured a life-threatening deformity from birth. As he grew, he displayed exceptional intelligence and sought a way to escape his condition by taking sole possession of their shared body. He later travelled as a primitive Black Wizard, published advanced dark theories, founded a wizard tower, and gained the title Black Witch King for introducing the Mystery of Life and Death. 1734

He pursued the boundary between life and death and became one of the earliest wizards to master the rules of the Other Shore Yellow Springs Realm. His exploration exposed him to the end of dimensional space-time—an encounter that left him terrified, isolated, and increasingly indifferent to life. His laboratories became sites of mass experimentation and death. 1507

Despite his infamy, he was a decisive force in the Wizard World's ancient history. During the First War of Civilization, he discovered the weakness of the Nightmare Alien Civilization's repeated nightmare rebirths. During the Second War of Civilization, he acted as a vanguard against the Formless Ancient Demons occupying the Underground Abyss. His influence continued largely unseen, altering the Wizard World's course from behind the scenes. 1492

His research ultimately produced a unique state of existence: the Black Witch King is one body with two consciousnesses. The male aspect is tied to the Yellow Springs Netherworld, while his female counterpart embodies Other Shore Reincarnation; together, they exploit a contradiction in the Endless World's dimensional rules. 1752

Appearance

In his ordinary manifestation, the Black Witch King appears as a hunched, gaunt old man surrounded by oppressive black mist. His physical size is deceptive: despite standing around 1.9 meters tall, his presence can overwhelm True Spirit Wizards, Sovereigns, and entire battlefields. 1496 1647

  • Sparse hair, blackened skin, tattered clothing, and prominent white teeth. 2100
  • Murky black eyes and a cruel, skeletal grin. 1772 2100
  • Black smoke carrying the laws of despair and death. 1853
  • Can enlarge his true body beyond ten thousand meters and physically tear open a World's Garment. 1787
  • In complete form, manifests as a half-real, half-illusory conjoined entity linked to his female counterpart. 1752 1754

Personality

The Black Witch King is cruel, acquisitive, and intensely curious. He treats living enemies as potential experimental materials, seeing fallen Rulers not only as corpses but as specimens whose rule attributes can be studied and refined into synthetic beasts. 1734

His brutality originates partly in fear. After witnessing the secret of dimensional space-time, he spent ages terrified of inexplicable death and the instability of reality. Rather than abandoning his pursuit, he became more detached and ruthless in his search for truth. 1507

He recognizes exceptional intellect and power, particularly in Green. Though they become enemies, he considers Green a rare equal in their understanding of dimensional truth. 1647 1750 His female counterpart contrasts sharply with him: she is portrayed as loving, wise, and compassionate, but reserves those feelings solely for him. 1734

Abilities & Skills

Mystery of Life and Death

The Black Witch King is the founder and foremost practitioner of the Mystery of Life and Death.

  • Commands the Yellow Springs Netherworld River, a black suspended river embodying the cycle of life and death. 1507 1734
  • Uses life-and-death power to kill Nightmare creatures simply by enveloping them in black vapor or fixing them with his gaze. 1507
  • Absorbs life force directly; he nearly drained the Sun Scorpion Empress through his black aura. 1508
  • His power is substantially less effective against simple, low-intelligence machines, whose CPU-based consciousness is less susceptible to life-and-death rules. 1788

Complete Conjoined True Form

His ultimate form combines the Yellow Springs Netherworld True Body and Other Shore Reincarnation True Body.

  • Possesses two consciousnesses and two life-form aspects within a single conjoined existence. 1752
  • Uses two-colored Other Shore Flowers and consciousness reassembly to sustain the Other Shore Reincarnation aspect. 1752
  • Is strongest in the Other Shore Yellow Springs Realm, where both true bodies can be manifested. 1752 1754
  • Outside that realm, the female Other Shore aspect cannot fully materialize and remains illusory, creating a major weakness in his complete form. 1754

Despair of Humanity

Humanity's Despair is the foundation of the Black Witch King's long-term power.

  • Replaces the power normally supplied by an Omnipotent Soul. 1748
  • Imposes despair on human-bloodlined members of the older generation of True Spirit Wizards. 1748
  • Accumulated over immense epochs, allowing him to remain a threat even after black wizards could no longer replenish the resource. 1748
  • Its depletion weakens his complete form; during the Spirit Ring Ice Soul World invasion, his strength declined continuously as his reserves were spent. 1760

Synthetic Beast Sorcery

He refines powerful corpses and living materials into artificial lifeforms.

  • Holds the Ancestor of Humanity's corpse, which he used to complete a supreme synthetic-beast sorcery. 1510
  • Controls the Formless Ten-Headed Corpse Demon Puppet, restoring it through an advanced Omnipotent Soul control method even after it lost a head. 1496
  • Designed the Purgatory Ominous Bone around King Aibadon's battle intent, though it lacked the Purgatory Furnace needed for its ideal state. 1749
  • Regards defeated Rulers as raw materials for life-cell synthesis and rule research. 1734

Dimensional Knowledge

His research extends beyond conventional wizardly rule study.

  • Discovered and entered the Other Shore Yellow Springs Realm long before most wizards understood comparable dimensional principles. 1507
  • Identified the true function of the Titan Attrition Ring: breaking the restraints of an elemental body by using a lower World Master creature to feed back into spiritual self-awareness. 1750
  • Sought a dimensional war against higher-dimensional beings, believing it necessary for true rebirth beyond the Endless World's fabricated illusions. 1766

  • Formless Ten-Headed Corpse Demon Puppet — A major corpse-puppet servant and experimental subject. 1496
  • Ancestor of Humanity's corpse — A colossal synthetic beast under his control. 1491 1510

Relationships

  • Female counterpart / elder sister — His conjoined other consciousness and sole confidant; she displays compassion only toward him. 1734 1752
  • Green — Enemy, intellectual equal, captor, and later the source of the will guiding the Black Witch King beyond the Wizard World. 1750 1762 1767
  • Antonio — One of the few figures implied to have understood the Black Witch King's loneliness and knowledge of deeper truth. 1507
  • Tini Biya — Direct disciple and Saiyan princess taken under his authority; he trains her as a wizard while also calculating against her future power. 1773 1847 2109
  • Sakajita — Saiyan King coerced into surrendering his daughter as the Black Witch King's disciple to secure his race's survival. 1774
  • Ancestor of Humanity's corpse — His supreme synthetic beast and a dangerous safeguard tied to the Wizard World's survival. 1510
  • Formless Ten-Headed Corpse Demon Puppet — Controlled corpse puppet used in his campaigns and battles. 1496

Story Role / Major Arcs

Nightmare Descends

During the Nightmare crisis, the Black Witch King deployed the Formless Ten-Headed Corpse Demon Puppet, identified Mu Yu's Heart Demon Summoning phantom as a relic of a lost civilization, and sealed the Heart Demon Stone for study. 1496 1497

He then entered the Nightmare Bone Demon World, slaughtered Nightmare creatures to rapidly collect Nightmare despair, captured the Sun Scorpion Empress, and pursued the Titan Attrition Ring. 1507 1508 1515

Conflict with Green

After decades of being besieged by Chaos Void Domain Sovereigns, he became the focus of Green's rescue operation and subsequent confrontation. 1722 He revealed his primitive conjoined form while hunting Rulers for corpse materials, then fought Green through the Mirage Desire Maze, the Other Shore Yellow Springs Realm, and multiple illusory worlds. 1734 1748 1752

Although his complete form initially overwhelmed Green inside the Other Shore Yellow Springs Realm, prolonged battles drained Humanity's Despair and exposed the limits of his Other Shore Reincarnation body outside that realm. 1752 1754 1760

Capture and Demon-Hunting Atonement Era

Green used higher-dimensional power to seal the Black Witch King in the Other Shore Yellow Springs Realm. He was subsequently brought before the Wizard World's leaders in chains, where Green spared him while ordering the destruction of the Black Region. 1762 1765

Green then sealed him within the Heart of the Wizard World and later released his Yellow Springs Netherworld True Body as the incarnation of the Wizard King's will beyond the Wizard World. 1766 1767

Saiyan Control and Dark Great World Campaign

The Black Witch King forced the Saiyan King Sakajita to surrender Princess Tini Biya as his disciple, imposed harsh terms on the Saiyan race, and used the Saiyan legions as one of his few direct subordinate forces. 1773 1774 1847

In the Dark Great World, he overwhelmed the Dark Hive King Sacred Ancestor and absorbed the will of the Wushi Dark Sacred Ancestor after it possessed the Hive King. 1853

Later Reappearance

Following the loss of the Black Region's support, he was described as an infinitely enhanced Level Six lifeform rather than a normal Sovereign, yet remained too dangerous for the Wizard World to ignore. 1986

He later reappeared outside Green's influence and discussed exploiting the Saiyan Clan to stabilize the Wizard World, openly proposing that even his own disciple be used and discarded if necessary. 2109
