After Luo Yunji explained that another Deity had appeared in his consciousness and warned of danger, Tian Buyi revealed his Grand Purity Realm cultivation, and the group prepared to enter the cave the next day.

• Little Gray smashed through the strange, fire-resistant trees that attacked him in the depths of the Black Forest.
• Tian Buyi and his companions found the trail marker, left the Black Forest, and crossed seven dangerous mountain ranges to reach the black-mist-covered mountain marked on the map.
• Luo Yunji repeatedly asked for breaks while they crossed the mountain, slowing the journey.

The Black-Clad Deity explained the Beast Demon’s origin and the danger its absorption of Heaven and Earth Malice posed, then placed a remnant of his consciousness in Luo Yunji’s Sea of Consciousness. Luo Yunji and his companions emerged from the dark space into a new area, where thirteen enormous skeletons turned to face them.

• The Black-Clad Deity revealed that the Beast Demon had inherited White Lotus’s gift of Love and had wished to become human for Linglong.
• The White-Clothed Deity explained that Luo Yunji had received his gifts, including Greed, which had become an insatiable Appetite.
• The Black-Clad Deity and the White-Clothed Deity discussed how the Beast Demon’s absorption of Heaven and Earth Malice threatened the world’s balance, and the Black-Clad Deity chose to return the malice.

Hei Mu and the others found the Beast God in Demon-Suppression Cave, where he regenerated his body after meeting Luo Yunji. The Beast God refused to teach Luo Yunji the rebirth technique, then turned his attention to Hei Mu.

• Hei Mu approached the white skeleton on a jade platform, while its thirteen skeletal guards watched him.
• The white skeleton explained that its guards’ souls remained bound to their bones, and Luo Yunji sat beside it without fear.
• The skeleton praised Luo Yunji, then began growing blood, flesh, sinews, and skin as thunder and rain battered the mountain outside.

As Qinglong headed south on the Ghost King’s orders, the Ghost King tried to trade the Four Spirits Blood Array for the Two Mountains’ Heavenly Book volumes, but Luo Yunji showed little interest.

• Wu Dayi urged Zhang Xiaofan to help He Dazhi work out more steps of Intermediate Footwork, and Zhang revealed he was only two steps short of mastering the first thirty-four.
• Zhou Yixian and Xiaohuan arrived, and Zhou reported that her divination with the Samsara Disk foretold a terrible white disaster moving from the Southern Border toward the Central Plains.
• Zhang Xiaofan told Zhou that a Deity had already warned them the Great Calamity began months earlier, while Wu Dayi explained that their investigators sent to the Southern Border had disappeared.
• Wu Dayi sent news to Azure Cloud, and Zhang Xiaofan informed the Ghost King, who then dispatched Qinglong to the Southern Border to retrieve an ancient exotic beast.
