Luo Yunji and the Ghost King explored the Nether Abyss, uncovered the Heavenly Book, and escaped with help from Xiaohuan. As preparations for the Great Calamity continued, Luo Yunji, Zhang Xiaofan, and Tian Buyi traveled to the Southern Border, where the Great Shaman began recounting the Beast God’s history.

• Yuyangzi let Luo Yunji and the Ghost King enter the Nether Abyss, where Luo Yunji navigated illusions, removed a Puppet Worm from the Ghost King, and found the Heavenly Book’s fifth volume and an altar leading to the Underworld.
• Luo Yunji sealed a Boundary Rift, but the altar collapsed and black mist trapped him and the Ghost King until Xiaohuan opened a passage back to the Wildlands Divine Temple.
• Luo Yunji arranged for Blackheart Elder to teach Wild Dog Daoist, while He Dazhi spoke with Daoist Cangsong and urged him to return to the Two Mountains.
• Xiaobai told the Ghost King she was the White Fox and left to live for her son, her people, and the Two Mountains, as leaders across the region prepared for the Great Calamity.
• Tian Buyi found Luo Yunji at an inn, then accompanied him and Zhang Xiaofan toward the Southern Border after a Deity in Luo Yunji’s Sea of Consciousness asked for help at the Demon-Suppression Cave.
• Zhang Xiaofan punished the inn’s staff for serving spoiled food, and he, Luo Yunji, and Tian Buyi resumed their journey with Monster Beasts carrying them.
• Tumagu brought Luo Yunji, Zhang Xiaofan, and Tian Buyi to the Miao Altar, where Luo Yunji studied blood-patterned murals and asked the Great Shaman about the Demon-Suppression Cave.
• The Great Shaman said the Dog God had warned the Miao people of disasters and began describing how the Beast God’s miasma transformed wild beasts into violent, human-bodied monsters.

Tian Buyi, Zhang Xiaofan, and Luo Yunji entered the Demon-Suppression Cave, where the Beast God was resurrected and later set out to destroy the world. As signs of the Great Calamity gathered, Luo Yunji investigated ancient prophecies and continued his life among the people of Two Mountains and Sanfu Town.

• The Great Wizard sent Tian Buyi, Zhang Xiaofan, and Luo Yunji to the Ancient Demon-Suppression Cave, where they rescued the dying Killing Monk from the burning Black Forest.
• Big Yellow transformed into a Heavenly Dog, and Tian Buyi, Zhang Xiaofan, Luo Yunji, Big Yellow, and Little Gray traveled to the Demon-Suppression Cave.
• Hei Mu and the two Deities explained the Beast Demon’s origins and its connection to Luo Yunji before the Beast God revived his body.
• The Beast God left the cave with Taotie, witnessed villagers slaughter one another, and resolved to destroy the world as he headed back toward the Southern Border.
• Tian Buyi returned to Azure Cloud Mountain to oppose the proposed marriage between Lu Xueqi and Li Xun, while the Azure Cloud leaders prepared for the coming calamity.
• Zhou Yixian gave Zhang Xiaofan a booklet of talisman arts, and Luo Yunji studied it before withdrawing to develop his Footwork.
• Zhou Yixian’s divination and the Imperial Clan’s fable revealed warnings about the Great Calamity, God Descent, and the Five Seas’ trials, while Luo Yunji continued spending time with children in Sanfu Town.
• The Ghost King brought Bi Yao out of seclusion and told her to find a husband, then took her toward Sanfu Town.

The Ghost King pursued a marriage between Bi Yao and Luo Yunji while the Beast God's monsters invaded the Central Plains. Two Mountains sheltered civilians and prepared its defenses, Liao Ming took the throne to defend the Imperial City, and Tian Buyi led his disciples to seek the Beast Demon.

• The Ghost King encouraged Bi Yao to marry Luo Yunji, and Tian Buyi agreed to discuss the match after Luo Yunji entered her bedroom.
• Xiaobai returned wounded from the Southern Border and warned that the Beast God would lead his monsters into the Central Plains.
• He Dazhi and Wu Dayi organized evacuations into the Underground City as the Beast Demons massacred settlements and drove refugees north.
• Luo Yunji used the fused Four Talismans to heal Wan Jianyi and gave them to Lu Daxin, while Xiao Liu delivered the Eight Desolations Profound Fire Array manual.
• Liao Ming took soldiers and demon beasts to the Imperial City, forced his father from the throne, and sent his family to safety while he remained to defend the people.
• Daoxuan agreed to lend Qingyun Disciples to guide civilians north, and Tian Buyi and Ghost King set Bi Yao’s wedding for six months later.

Luo Yunji confronted the Beast God and ended the Beast Demon calamity, then recovered and reunited with those who feared he had died. As he became engaged to Bi Yao and Azure Cloud Sect staged a false feud, signs emerged that another calamity was approaching.

• Tian Buyi led his disciples to Venom Snake Valley, where Zhang Xiaofan killed Poison God and the Myriad Poison Sect fell.
• Luo Yunji confronted the Beast God and agreed to a one-year truce, then sent the Big Bamboo Peak disciples into an illusion to master Ultimate Footwork.
• After a year of slaughter, Luo Yunji faced the Beast God at Azure Cloud Mountain and defeated him with heavenly thunder, while cultivators from Sanfu Town helped repel the monster army.
• At the Ancient Demon-Suppression Cave, the Beast God reunited with Linglong, and Luo Yunji absorbed their souls into the Ghost Umbrella before Tian Buyi carried him away to recover.
• The Beast Demon forces were defeated, and Luo Yunji was found alive in the Inner Swamp, where Li Qinghe, Su Ru, and Bi Yao came to see him.
